Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball Ticket Prices Spark Fan Fury in Australia: ‘No Bloody Way!’

Fans of Lady Gaga are expressing their displeasure on social media regarding the high cost of tickets for her forthcoming Australian tour.

39-year-old artist famous for “Poker Face,” is making a long-awaited return to Australia after an eleven-year absence, as part of her Mayhem Ball concert tour in May.

Yet, when the initial pre-sale began on Monday, eager fans found themselves surprised and financially affected upon discovering the high prices of tickets for the eagerly awaited performances.

Or:

Yet, during the opening of the first presale on Monday, fans were taken aback and faced monetary loss when they learned about the expensive ticket prices for the highly anticipated shows.

Many angry fans claimed that dynamic ticket pricing had sent the cost soaring.

Dynamic pricing means that the price of tickets will rise or fall based on demand.

One enthusiast, discussing it this week, posted pictures from the ticket sales page for one of Lady Gaga’s concerts at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

The attached images reveal that tickets for the pre-sale event, hosted by both Mastercard and Vodafone, are reasonably priced at approximately $204.80 each.

Another shot showed prices for seated tickets, which ranged from $539 to $649.

‘Lady gaga #Melbourne Marvel stadium pricing,’ the fan wrote.

– The cheapest tickets are approximately $300 (often referred to as ‘nosebleed seats’ because of their high location).
– Mid to front seats in the stands will cost between $550 and $650.
– For those who prefer the rear floor, the ticket price is $255.

Another shared a screenshot that showed ‘nosebleed’ seats going for almost $500.

Absolutely not! I’m not prepared to spend such a high price for tickets in the upper stands for Lady Gaga. It’s just unfair, this thing called dynamic pricing.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to have scored tickets for this highly-anticipated event, yet it’s a mix of joy and sadness because the price tag is rather steep for such an experience.

‘Won the lady gaga ticket war but at what cost (a big f*** you to dynamic pricing,’ they wrote.

Another echoed the sentiment.

They obtained Lady Gaga tickets for Melbournes show, but were frustrated by the concept of dynamic pricing, stating that it should not be permitted.

Or more informally:

They snagged some Lady Gaga tix for Melbourne, but man, I hate dynamic pricing – it’s just not fair!

However, a Ticketmaster spokesperson said in a statement that dynamic pricing was not used.

The representative stated that Ticketmaster doesn’t use variable pricing strategies or complex algorithms to change ticket costs.

‘Tickets were priced in advance of the sale and set at the individual seat level.’

Regarding her Instagram post about the upcoming tour, Lady Gaga shared that she hadn’t initially intended to embark on a global tour in 2025. However, the extraordinary enthusiasm generated by her recent album, ‘Mayhem’, motivated her to bring her performances to the world stage instead.

She noted that it all fell into place remarkably fast, largely due to Arthur Fogel and his exceptional Live Nation crew, who managed to organize a worldwide tour within a matter of mere weeks.

Instead, she explained that they selected venues (arenas) for their tour specifically to manage the specifics of the performance, which isn’t feasible when using stadiums where such control is simply unattainable.

She concluded her post by saying, “This performance will vividly portray the chaos I imagine as a captivating and thrilling theatrical event. Looking forward to seeing you all soon, my monstrous friends.

GaGa’s Chaos Tour is scheduled to stop in Melbourne on December 5th and 6th, then move onto Brisbane on the 9th of December. The tour concludes in Sydney on the 12th of December.

On Friday evening at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, Lady Gaga’s stunning performance left spectators speechless and amazed.

For the second time, the pop star is the main act at the annual music festival, having previously performed in 2017. This year, though, she really went all out.

The performer famed for paparazzi moments kicked off an unforgettable show, starting with the song “Bloody Mary”. She wore a striking red gown on stage and stood before a darkly captivating backdrop adorned with gargoyles and angels. Some audience members compared the scene to a ‘ritual of the occult’.

In a performance divided into four acts, aptly referred to as an “operatic desert scene” by the performer, Lady Gaga proceeded to belt out tunes such as Abracadabra, Judas, and Scheiße.

At some point, the stage transformed into a colossal chessboard during Lady Gaga’s rendition of Poker Face, as she and her dance troupe engaged in a choreographed dance competition divided into two teams. In the end, it was Gaga who triumphed.

Caught up in a whirlwind of breathtaking scenery, captivating stage designs, countless wardrobe transformations, and an unmatched vocal prowess, I can’t help but echo the sentiments of fellow fans – it was nothing short of ‘the most extraordinary Coachella performance ever witnessed’.
