Fans of Sex and the City are deeply split over the latest season three preview for the contentious spinoff titled “And Just Like That…”.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon have returned to play their cherished characters of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, and Miranda Hobbes once more.

Jon Corbett reappears once more, portraying Carrie’s former partner Aidan – a character he skillfully played in the initial show, earning the affection of many viewers.

In the second season of ‘And Just Like That…’, Aidan appeared, trying to rekindle his past relationship with Carrie. However, they eventually chose to part ways once more.

Despite the heartbreaking news of their recent split, I can’t help but feel a flicker of optimism as Aidan makes a return in the latest trailer. It’s like my deep-seated fandom is keeping a tiny flame alive, hoping against hope for more of their love story.

A sneak peek at the new production sparked mixed feelings across social media, with devoted fans of the original series expressing strong disapproval due to a notable absence that was hard to ignore.

In a different phrasing, the beloved character Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, who was among the principal figures in Sex and the City, hasn’t made an appearance yet in And Just Like That.

Following years of whispers about her strained relationships with the initial cast members, it’s worth noting that Kim decided not to rejoin the lineup for the subsequent series.

In the second season, there was a short scene where Samantha made a call to Carrie from London. This implied that Kim, who portrays Samantha, did not shoot her scenes alongside the main cast.

Towards the close of season two, Aidan decides to part ways with Carrie so he can reside in Virginia with their kids until they reach adulthood, which is approximately five years away.

After moving back to New York, Carrie and Aidan intended to rekindle their relationship. In the preview, they put extra effort into preserving their romantic connection.

Aidan mails Carrie a postcard and also pays her a visit in New York. However, his romantic gesture of throwing a stone at her window backfires, as it breaks the glass instead and scares her instead.

While Charlotte and her spouse, Henry (Evan Hander), find themselves immersed in the bustle of raising their daughters Lily (Caty Ang) and Rose (Alexa Swinton), Miranda persists in investigating her queer sexual identity in New York.

In the realm of social media, when I recently shared an exciting sneak peek on what was once known as Twitter, a popular comment that caught my eye read: “Everyone was eagerly anticipating the appearance of none other than the regal Kim Cattrall in this trailer.

Another spectator expressed their curiosity by sharing a GIF of Kim and inquiring: ‘Where’s Samantha missing from this?’ or ‘Why isn’t Samantha present here?’

A wide variety of fans showed mixed reactions, with numerous ones displaying indifference. For instance, one fan using account X responded to the trailer post with an animated image of RuPaul expressing a nonchalant reaction: ‘mehhh.’
