Brian Austin Green Rushed to Hospital for Perforated Appendix, Reveals Health Struggle
In simpler terms, Brian Austin Green, who used to be married to Megan Fox, shared a scary explanation for why he ended up in the hospital and needed an operation.
Last week, the 51-year-old actor found himself needing urgent care at the hospital due to an inflamed appendix close to rupturing.
Initially, I found myself at a pair of healthcare centers that were distressingly packed, leading me to reluctantly depart in search of quicker attention at another location.
Eventually, he admitted himself at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, located in the outskirts of Los Angeles. There, he promptly received necessary medical care.
He had his first significant operation at that location and is still in the process of healing from it, as he posted on his Instagram account this past Monday.
Previously, Brian had been dealing with an ailment similar to a stroke, encompassing issues like ulcerative colitis, that caused him to be away from work from 2014 to 2017 and at one point left him unable to read, write or communicate verbally.
He resides with his partner, former Dancing With The Stars contestant Sharna Burgess, and together they have a two-year-old child named Zane.
Alongside Megan, Brian has three kids named Noah (age 12), Bodhi (age 10), and Journey (eight). Recently, Megan’s former partner, Machine Gun Kelly, became a dad to a new baby girl.
In a video he shared on Monday, Brian said, “I’ve been experiencing some discomfort in my abdomen since last week.
‘Ultimately, I found myself at the emergency department due to a nearly-burst appendix, not quite perforated but very close. I visited several emergency units across the valley near my residence. Due to overcrowding, I eventually decided to leave.’ He explained.
According to Brian, he quickly visited the emergency department at Providence Cedars-Sinai. He was amazed because they promptly attended to him, swiftly arranging for his surgery.
The level of care provided was extraordinary. To put it simply, everyone present was remarkably kind, caring, supportive, and helpful. Without a doubt, every person there, as the star of Beverly Hills, 90210 stated.
He wanted to express his appreciation, so he’s reaching out to give them a special mention. In his opinion, when you encounter fantastic locations filled with wonderful individuals who go above and beyond for you, it’s only fair to acknowledge their efforts.
Brian spoke warmly, “That’s what I’ve been up to. Therefore, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you at the hospital for all the exceptional care you provided me.

I’m making progress towards healing. It’s a tough journey, being my first significant operation after having minor ones before. Your support has been incredible, thank you so much.
As I reflect on my personal journey in 2023, I openly shared my experience with a condition resembling a stroke that persisted for more than four long years. During this time, I found myself struggling to perform basic tasks such as reading, writing, and speaking.
The veteran actor from Hollywood, age 50, shared that he’s been grappling with a pair of health issues – recurring dizziness (vertigo) and the inflammatory bowel disease called ulcerative colitis.
In an episode of Sex, Likes And Spray Tans hosted by former Dancing with the Stars contestant Cheryl Burke, Brian reminisced about a health predicament he faced.
He mentioned he had some troubles with his nervous system, which started following an episode of dizziness, and at a certain point, he was forced to stay in bed for a full three months.
Eventually, a specialist explained to him that both stress and issues with his diet were contributing factors. More specifically, they pointed out that he might be experiencing internal inflammation due to gluten and dairy consumption in his meals.
Brian experienced difficulties throughout his marriage with famous actress Megan, culminating in their divorce in 2020.
Due to his deteriorating health, he had to take several years away from work, with the television series Anger Management ending in 2014, up until the release of the movie Cross Wars in 2017.

In my latest podcast episode, I pondered the possibility that the health issues Brian has been facing might be connected to the dramatic car accident he miraculously survived in 2014. Could this life-changing event have played a role in his current state of wellness? It’s an intriguing question worth exploring further.
That particular December, they found themselves in a vehicle with Megan, when another driver under the influence hit them head-on.
Brian made it clear that the source of his troubles was related to his diet, even though it might seem puzzling or complex to someone not directly involved.
He mentioned that for approximately four and a half years, he experienced symptoms similar to those of a stroke, yet he had never actually suffered one. However, he was unable to talk during this period.
When Cheryl wondered if Brian’s issues stemmed from vertigo, he answered by saying, “Vertigo is part of what I’m experiencing,” before going into more detail.

The actor shared, “I suffered from ulcerative colitis and later experienced vertigo, leaving me confined to bed for approximately three months. Unfortunately, neither condition could be diagnosed by any of the medical professionals I consulted.
After experiencing vertigo, several neurological issues began for him, and over the next four and a half years, they significantly impacted his life. He became so affected that he moved like an elderly man, struggled to speak, read, or write, as he later reminisced.
Once more, there was no definitive diagnosis from conventional Western medicine, which led me to eventually seek out a physician who specializes in fields such as kinesiology and Eastern medicine.
The doctor told Brian that he had developed significant internal inflammation due to his long-term consumption of gluten and dairy products, which was surprising given his lifelong habit of consuming them.
He found the uncertainty surrounding an unknown ailment deeply unsettling, as he hadn’t the slightest clue about its origin. He worried that it might return without warning.
In the year 2022, he unfortunately went through another episode of ulcerative colitis, a prolonged bout that led to a weight loss of approximately 20lbs and left him confined to bed for weeks. During this period, Sharna, who was pregnant with Zane at the time, diligently provided his care.
