Weezer Bassist’s Wife: Close to Notorious Serial Killer, Now Facing Attempted Murder Charges

It has been disclosed by DailyMail.com, on an exclusive basis, that Scott Shriner’s wife, Jillian, has had past encounters with the more troubling aspects of life, as she now stands accused of attempted murder.

The author developed such a close friendship with an infamous serial killer, she even claimed his body after his death.

As I found myself in the Los Angeles County Jail yesterday, it was all due to an incident involving a police chase of a hit-and-run driver, where I unfortunately brandished a firearm in response. (Jillian Shriner, 51)

As reported by authorities, a woman who is a mother of two was gunned down in the shoulder when she declined to surrender her firearm. Subsequently, she was apprehended outside the luxurious $2.5 million residence in Eagle Rock that she cohabits with her musician spouse.

Currently, DailyMail.com unveils that Shriner has previously spent time behind bars following his close bond with murder suspect Samuel Little, responsible for at least eight deaths over a 25-year killing spree.

In a cell at the California State Prison, Lancaster, an individual named Little, aged 80 at the time of his death, admitted to having murdered no less than 93 people. The FBI confirmed that he was linked to at least 50 of these deaths, earning him the title of the most notorious serial killer in American history.

A movie director and writer named Shriner encountered a brutal killer during the process of creating a documentary series titled “Confronting a Serial Killer.” This series eventually evolved into a book known as “Behold the Monster: Encountering America’s Most Notorious Serial Killer.

However, though both endeavors claimed to be a struggle for justice for Little’s victims, DailyMail.com uncovers an intriguing detail: off-stage, they fostered a strong bond – to such an extent that Little listed herself as his emergency contact in prison documents.

In the month of December 2020, when he passed away, Shriner initiated a lengthy legal process lasting over a year to secure his remains, referring to him in court documents as a “close companion” (as reported by DailyMail.com).

I had known Sam for three years, both socially and professionally.

Furthermore, she detailed her multiple efforts to get in touch with Inez McDowell, who is 71 years old and Little’s half-sister, regarding the disposition of his remains. She then mentioned that ‘Sam designated me as his next of kin according to his emergency contact form, a fact now acknowledged by everyone.’

Two days after the request, Judge Susan Matcham made the decision to grant it, and as a result, Shriner received Little’s remains.

The latest unexpected turn in this ongoing story unfolded on Tuesday, as law enforcement officers pursuing a hit-and-run suspect invaded an affluent area of Eagle Rock, following their initial encounter.

Later on, authorities discovered the man swimming in a neighbor’s pool, falsely claiming residence. During their search, officers encountered the individual identified as Shriner outside her house.

The 51-year-old, as reported by the police, was holding a 9mm pistol and aimed it at them after they requested him to let go of it.

An unnamed neighbor shared with DailyMail.com that they were unaware Shriner had a weapon during the confrontation, yet observed numerous officers brandishing their firearms and heard what sounded like six gunshots.

She added: ‘There was no shot and then a response shot. It was just them firing on her.’

My neighbor expressed her intense anger regarding the incident, mentioning that she strongly suspects one officer may have concealed himself before firing, and none of them reported their identities to the mother of two children.

According to the neighbor, it appeared that Shriner had been shot in her own backyard. She mentioned that she often kept a gun due to an incident involving a hit-and-run driver who was previously found in the backyard of the house adjacent to hers.

Speaking for myself, I believe if she could have laid eyes on them and recognized their identities, it’s highly probable that she would have chosen to put down the firearm.

The angry neighbor additionally asserted that police were unable to locate a stolen, fire-engine red Gibson guitar hidden in the trash by the suspected thief, and accused them of being indifferent towards apprehending the culprits responsible for the hit-and-run incident.

Later on, I found myself in the hands of the diligent officers from the California Highway Patrol. They issued a citation and allowed me to go free after the incident.

Or:

After the unfortunate event, I was eventually taken into custody by the skillful officers of the California Highway Patrol. They handed me a citation and then released me from their care.

Both sentences convey the same information but have a more conversational tone, making it easier for readers to understand and engage with the content.

During an evening press briefing yesterday, Detective Meghan Aguilar from the LAPD stated that the events preceding the shooting remained ambiguous, as footage from officers’ body cameras provided limited insight into the situation.

At that moment, she issued several orders for him to surrender the gun, specifically “drop the gun” and “drop the weapon”. Sadly, this situation led to a police officer having to discharge their firearm.

Aguilar mentioned that the camera didn’t show a definitive image of Shriner’s actions with the firearm, and he questioned whether she had shot at the officers or not.

On Tuesday night, Shriner received treatment for non-critical gunshot injuries and was subsequently accused of attempted murder. Afterward, he was granted bail in the amount of $1 million.

As reported by CBS News, she explained to the police that she was only attempting to protect her home during the gunfire incident.

On Thursday morning, Weezer’s bassist Scott, aged 59, was spotted near his residence. He provided updates regarding his health to the inquiring reporters.

He assured that she was fine, then added a mention of gratitude for being asked, before casually promoting his performance at the Coachella Festival in Indio, California, which is scheduled for the afternoon of this coming Saturday.
