Shocking Truth: Vic Reeves’ Real Name Revealed After Decades of Fame!

Together with Bob Mortimer, he climbed to popularity as their television show, Vic Reeves Big Night Out on Channel 4, first aired in 1990.

In just 15 episodes spread over two seasons, that hilarious series had me hooked from the start! Before I knew it, Vic and Bob were shining stars in the comedy world, earning themselves a devoted following as a cult favorite.

However Vic Reeves is not the star’s real name and is actually just an alter ego.

His real name is in fact James Moir, but he goes by Jim.

2023 found me making a personal change: I decided to say goodbye to my stage name, clearing up any confusion about a potential reunion with Bob.

He stated: ‘We’ve received proposals from all over. However, I won’t be taking on any more projects. I’ve decided to quit. I’ve already done enough of it.’

Previously, fans were taken aback upon discovering Jim’s true name, prompting them to take to Twitter to voice their astonishment.

It turns out that “Vic Reeves” isn’t his birth name. That was something new I discovered today.

‘Why has it took me over 50 years to realize Vic Reeves isn’t his real name’.

In no time, Vic and Bob’s performance became widely beloved due to the quirky cast of personalities such as Les, The Man With The Stick, and The Ponderers. Their famous saying “you simply had to keep pushing things further” has since become a popular phrase among fans.

From 1995 to 1997, and again starting in 2008, the duo presented a trivia program titled Shooting Stars on BBC2, with a three-season revival in between.

In the past year, Bob confessed that they had grown distant, expressing regret for not having spent more time with Jim.

During a conversation with Richard Herring on his RHLSTP podcast, he admitted that he regretted not doing more collaborative work with his past acting partner.

‘I got on great with Jim, but no, we’re both doing our own little things at the moment’, he said.

‘We had a lovely time, but you get older.

‘I wish I’d done more with Jim, you know, when we were younger, because now, we have drifted apart.

With each passing year, I find myself reflecting on the many wonderful individuals I used to interact with, only to realize that time has moved us apart. It appears to be an inevitable part of life.

The fact that their duo is disintegrating isn’t hidden; Jim publicly announced their separation back in April, 2023.

Jim shared with The Times: “Bob and I aren’t typically chatty, and we don’t often engage in long phone conversations.

He added: ‘We’ll see him now and then and have a chat about things.’
