David Tennant is said to have “nailed” his role as the host of ITV’s new game show Genius Game.
A well-known actor from “Doctor Who” is leading an eight-episode show on ITV1, where contestants selected for their exceptional intelligence and social aptitude compete against each other in a variety of distinctive games aimed at evaluating those abilities.
Tenant takes on the role of The Creator, guiding players through each challenge.
Prior to the debut of “Genius Game,” Anna Kidd, the show’s executive producer for games, shared insights on why Tennant was selected for the part, expressing admiration for his eagerness and comprehension of the role’s demands.
In the Korean adaptation of the series, the enigmatic figure known as The Creator is portrayed as an enigmatic and rather ominous character. They are always veiled behind a bandage, leaving their identity concealed, and their actions suggest something sinister. This was revealed in an interview with Radio Times.

For ITV, our aim was to infuse a touch of character and humor. Honestly, there was only one person who consistently stood out on our shortlist – David Tennant.
Kidd highly commended the actor for his mix of intellect, wit, and distinct appeal. He further mentioned that as soon as they presented the project and showed him a bit of the Korean adaptation, he promptly agreed to be part of it.
She added: “He perfectly executed the assignment. It’s clear that he is extraordinarily skilled in his field, yet it was evident that he was deeply committed to the task and fully grasped both the character and the objectives of the game.

In addition to his role, Tennant is set to appear in ITV’s upcoming drama titled “The Hack” where he portrays the character of Nick Davies, a true-to-life investigative journalist who exposed phone hacking incidents at Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World.
In a recent discussion, the actor Tennant has shared insights into filming the series, a production that features Robert Carlyle, known for Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Toby Jones from The Post Office, Rose Leslie of Game of Thrones, and Steve Pemberton from Inside No.9. He described the experience as quite intense.
He clarified, “That information is rather intricate due to its complexity. As I portray a journalist who uncovered this case, there’s an abundance of highly specialized details involved.
Genius Game will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this month.
