The long-awaited pre-registration phase for “Final Fantasy XIV mobile” has started, but at this time, it’s exclusive to iOS users in China. This game is officially endorsed by Square Enix and is being developed by Tencent Games, specifically its division called Lightspeed Studios.

Back in August 2024, during the FF14 Eorzean Symphony concert held in Guangzhou, China, they announced the expansion of Final Fantasy XIV mobile, which I’ve been eagerly anticipating, to something grander: Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World. Exciting times for gamers like me!

Final Fantasy XIV mobile retains the core gameplay and storytelling of the original PC MMORPG

Last November, they showed the trailer for the mobile version of the massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). This trailer demonstrated various gameplay aspects and concluded with an extra scene. Additionally, it was announced that Final Fantasy XIV mobile would initially launch in China, after which a global release will follow.

For years, the Final Fantasy series has been recognized for its rich narratives, deeply emotional characters, and distinctive world creation. The upcoming mobile version of a ten-year-old FFXIV promises to deliver the captivating experience of Eorzea while preserving the fundamental aspects of the original, such as its storyline and combat content.

As stated in the iOS App Store listing, the game is scheduled to launch on August 29, 2025, and you have the option to pre-register for it at this time. At present, no details about a worldwide release date have been disclosed by the developers.

Given that the launch primarily targets China, residents within the region are welcome to register early for Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World via the official site. This pre-registration process will ensure they receive updates on any upcoming announcements or news prior to the game’s release.
