- Squad Busters may have had ups and downs in its lifespan, but it seems to have smoothed out
- Supercell now have intentions to take it eastwards, to China
- Brawl Stars was in a similar situation, and ended up doing much better after launching in the east
Squad Busters has experienced some peaks and valleys during its short existence. From initially launching as a rather enjoyable MOBA featuring Supercell’s popular cast of characters, to experiencing underwhelming financial performance and various key metrics, it appears that they have managed to climb out of their difficulties in the long run.
It’s no wonder, then, that Finnish gaming powerhouse Supercell plans to launch their latest title in the eastern direction, particularly towards China. But hold on, isn’t that unusual? Not quite! Supercell has previously tasted success by introducing another one of its games, Brawl Stars, to the Chinese market.
Indeed, back in 2019, Brawl Stars found itself in a comparable predicament to Squad Busters, with some performance issues. In response, Supercell chose to navigate the game in a new direction. Despite initial challenges, Brawl Stars experienced significant success early on, and it appears that China played a role in its eventual triumph.

Taking a quick look reveals the challenges developers encounter when trying to enter China’s market. Since only a limited number of foreign launches are allowed to receive approval for release in this profitable market, each new introduction becomes crucial if one aims to establish themselves.
Since Brawl Stars graced the Chinese market with its innovative gameplay, I’ve witnessed a remarkable evolution. More and more groundbreaking titles from Chinese developers have been launched since then, captivating players worldwide. When Squad Busters eventually arrives, it might find itself in a competitive landscape, making its mark a challenging feat.
