The television show “Mythic Quest,” created by Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney, has been terminated by Apple TV+ following its fourth season.
This comedy series centers around Ian Grimm, played by McElhenney, who is the creative head at a video game company, along with his colleagues. The storyline focuses on their efforts to develop the main game while showcasing the tension between creativity and office dynamics.
After receiving praise for its first four successful seasons, with the latest one wrapping up just a month ago, it’s official – the series has been cancelled by Apple TV+, as reported by Variety.
Although it was canceled, the series manages to hold on to a sliver of existence, as the streaming platform plans to unveil a revised final episode – featuring a new conclusion – within the following seven days or so.
Conclusions can be tough, but after an amazing four-season run, ‘Mythic Quest’ is wrapping up,” stated McElhenney, along with executive producers Megan Ganz and David Hornsby. “We’re incredibly proud of the show and the universe we created, and we’re grateful to every cast and crew member who put their heart into it.

To everyone who’ve played alongside us, a big thank you! And to Apple, our long-time partners, gratitude for standing by our vision since day one. As endings can be tough, with Apple’s approval, we’ve added a final update to our last episode – allowing us to bid farewell, rather than just seeing ‘game over’.
Apart from McElhenney and Hornsby, the cast for Mythic Quest also featured Ashly Burch, Jessie Ennis, F Murray Abraham, Imani Hakim, and Charlotte Nicdao. The series spanned a total of 40 episodes.

A new show titled “Side Quest” was launched on the streaming platform last month as well. This four-part anthology series takes a deep dive into the lives of diverse individuals connected to the popular game “Mythic Quest “, encompassing characters from creators to enthusiasts.
Despite McElhenney’s show “Mythic Quest” getting cancelled, you’ll still see him on your screens as he joins his friend Ryan Reynolds for season 4 of “Welcome to Wrexham”, a docuseries chronicling their adventure as they own a Welsh football club together.
