Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025: List of every Video Game tournament with the details

2025 marks the return of the Esports World Cup (EWC) for its second season, following the triumphant conclusion of the inaugural event in 2024. This year, we’ll witness the continuation of this grand multi-game esports tournament, where top-tier professional gamers from various gaming titles will gather together to display their intense rivalries on a global stage.

The upcoming occasion is a revamped iteration of what was previously known as Gamers8. This significant gathering is orchestrated by the Esports World Cup Foundation and ESL FACEIT Group. Slated to commence in June 2025, the grand happening will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

List of all the events in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025

This major showcase will highlight PC games as well as mobile gaming applications. Interestingly, mobile games are expected to be a key point of interest during this event, with attention given in various aspects such as viewership and other factors. In total, there will be 21 different titles showcased, along with an astounding prize pool of $27,000,000! The grand total for the prize pool is a staggering $70,000,000!

By May 16, 2025, esports teams will submit their rosters for the games they are competing in. In this tournament, each event will grant points to the top eight teams.

The champion will receive a $70,000 prize from the championship, but it’s important to note that in order to claim the title for the entire event, the leading team must have won at least one of the events as well.

1. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

After a triumphant conclusion at its previous EWC edition in Riyadh, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is set to return with not one but two distinct events. One of these events will exclusively cater to female gamers. Meanwhile, the Mid-Season Cup 2025 will offer standard esports competition.

In 2025, the MLBB Women’s Invitational tournament, which is the second significant event from MOONTON’s popular Mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, will likewise make a unique impact within the gaming community.

2. Honor of Kings

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about being one of the 18 participants in the World Cup 2025 for the highly anticipated game, Honor of Kings. While details are still under wraps, we’re following the esports roadmap leading up to 2025. Can’t wait to see what this epic event at EWC 2025 has in store!

3. Free Fire

Garena’s well-known battle royale game, Free Fire, is set to embark on its second tour at the Esports World Cup venue. Further details about the Free Fire event will be revealed at a later time.

4. PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is set to bring back its grand event, the World Cup 2025, alongside a total of 20 other games. The game officially announced the 2025 esports season as part of its new year’s plans. The schedule is shaping up well, promising another thrilling competition for fans to enjoy.

At the forthcoming global tournament for the sport, there will be 24 competing teams and an impressive prize fund of $3 million. It promises to be intriguing to observe which squad will claim the top spot.

5. Dota 2

Although the tournament is returning with renewed vigor, the total prize money has significantly decreased compared to the last event. The upcoming competition will offer a prize pool of only $2,000,000 – a reduction from the previous edition’s amount.

In contrast to the previous event which featured 20 teams, this time around we’ll have only 16. Yet, the MOBA battle just doesn’t seem right without its original contender, and I’m certain fans will appreciate it nonetheless.

6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Five new titles will be introduced at the upcoming version of the esports festival, with “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” being one of them making its premiere. This tournament for the game promises to be swift and will involve 16 competing teams.

7. Street Fighter 6

In contrast to previous versions, Capcom’s renowned fighting game, Street Fighter 6, plans to feature a competition involving 48 players. There’s also speculation that it might include a larger cash prize, but until we get more details, this remains uncertain.

8. Call of Duty: Warzone

As a gamer, I’d say that Call of Duty games are all about immersive, narrative-driven, thrilling action that sets the bar high for shooter games. However, unlike other titles in the series, Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale game. This adrenaline-pumping experience will be part of our event too.

9. Chess

This year, Chess has reached an unprecedented level, and it’s set to make its grand appearance at EWC 2025. With a staggering prize pool of $1,500,000, this event promises to bring together only 16 of the sharpest minds in the game, as they compete fiercely to outwit each other.

10. EA SPORTS FC

For the EA Sports FC tournament, the prize amount hasn’t been disclosed yet. However, 32 players are set to battle it out for the undisclosed prize.

11. Tekken 8

In the upcoming event, you’ll find “Tekken 8,” the newest addition to the renowned Tekken series, which was created by Bandai Namco Studios.

Epic’s action racing title, Rocket League, is coming with a million-dollar prize pool and 16 teams.

13. RENNSPORT
