The controversy surrounding Strictly has intensified yet again, with reports suggesting that stars Jamie Borthwick and Wynne Evans have been reprimanded by BBC executives due to a startling video featuring adult toys.
Footage from The Sun on Sunday shows the two celebrities, who were part of the previous season’s cast of the show, hanging out backstage following an incident where one, aged 53 and an opera singer, sent a sex toy to the other, a 30-year-old EastEnders star.
The video was shot only two days following Wynne’s inappropriate sexual remark towards Jamie regarding dance professional Janette Manrara. In this footage, Jamie clarifies that the gift, a toy, had been delivered to the Utilita Arena’s front desk by Wynne.
In a friendly gesture, the actor grins while brandishing a rubber plaything, subsequently directing the lens towards Wynne, who’s shown working out without a shirt alongside skilled dancer Neil Jones.
Jamie expressed: “Check out what he got for me! Upon opening it, he managed to catch me off guard with this unexpected item, right? It’s quite amusing.
Jamie reportedly shared the offensive clip on the Strictly contestant Whatsapp group.

According to a source, when BBC officials learned about the inappropriate and juvenile video being circulated, they immediately took action by addressing the situation and emphasizing the need for both individuals to maintain professional behavior.
In a setting where decorum should have been maintained, given that it was a family program, some male performers displayed behavior that was remarkably childish and off-color, which seemed out of sync with the majority of the cast, who did not find such coarse humor appealing.
Leaders were taken aback and alarmed, aiming to quickly resolve the matter before it spread further, not realizing that the video had already been circulated more broadly.
They noted that the duo found the video amusing, but it seemed comical only to them, since Strictly being a family program, many viewers might not have shared their laughter.
TopMob have contacted the BBC as well as Wynne and Jamie’s representatives for comment. Â
The following day, Wynne made another criticism of Strictly, admitting that he can hardly contain his excitement to reveal the truth this coming Friday.
In a rough and disrespectful manner, Wynne proposed an unconventional threesome involving Janette, using a highly derogatory phrase that referred to them as if they were food being cooked on a spit.
Despite no formal complaint being lodged by Janette, the singer still apologized for his offensive remark directed towards her during the tour’s press conference. The apology came after footage of his comment surfaced. Subsequently, he was removed from the tour.

The individual feels he’s been subjected to an unfair situation following his supposed joke, which was apparently a well-known pet name for a fellow cast member and considered lighthearted banter among the Strictly group.
Although there has been much debate, Wynne seems ready to speak out about the scandal surrounding the show, as he recently posted about it on his Instagram story.
Sharing a selfie he wrote: ‘Hey all happy Friday. #truthwins #cantwaittotellthetruth #Wynners’. Â
On a rare occasion, Wynne suggested once again that he might disclose the truth, following his encouragement for his followers to maintain optimism and his statement that “truth prevails,” which he posted on social media on Monday.
Initially, he posted a picture of a gin bottle while savoring a drink with the Welsh vocalist Katherine Jenkins on a Sunday, followed by a 16.5 km running spree afterward.
Wynne posted a photo of him after working out along with his running data, noting that physical activity plays a crucial role in promoting mental wellness.
He wrote: ‘Sunday morning 30 mins done. So good for your mental health #truthwins #wynners’.

On the very next day, I, the overly enthusiastic fan, found myself carrying forward the energy, by sharing yet another weary self-portrait, fresh off a thrilling bike ride. And here’s my heartfelt message to all: Keep striving to maintain that positivity!
Starting a new week, completed a bike ride. Keep up the positivity, you’ve got this, he reinforced, using the hashtags ‘#TruthPrevails #Victorious’ as a reminder of his continued efforts to clear his name.
Previously, he made an attempt at a return last month by posing a question to his Instagram followers about their weekend plans – marking the first time he had communicated with fans since being compelled to step away from his radio program.
In addition, he promoted his BBC program, All At Sea, featuring Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page, on the airwaves following the controversy.
According to a source who spoke to The Sun in January, Wynne feels he’s been unfairly treated because his words have been misconstrued. Although he acknowledges that his choice of words wasn’t suitable, he believes the situation has been blown out of proportion and misunderstood.
Last month, news broke about a scandal involving a public figure. In response, my legal team and I have been tirelessly working to restore my reputation. After temporarily stepping away from my hosting role on BBC Radio Wales, I am now focused on clearing my name and resuming my regular duties as soon as possible.
Two months on, he’s yet to resume his hosting duties for the show and continues to be represented by Robin Morgan.
Last week, when questioned about returning, the BBC instead pointed towards a statement made in January, where he expressed regret for using ‘improper and intolerable’ language.

Following the termination of various endorsement agreements, it appears that Wynne’s legal team has assembled a detailed 30-page document, which they plan to present during negotiations, in an effort to maintain his cherished radio position.
Wynne is supported by a legal team, and he possesses a thick, approximately thirty-page document that he believes strengthens his argument.
In my fervor as a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express how utterly captivated he is by his role at BBC Radio Wales. The thought of him being compelled to retreat from this passion, following his dismissal from Strictly, leaves me with an unbearable longing.
Last month, the discussions were supposedly scheduled to happen, but they were postponed because Wynne was dealing with some issues related to his mental well-being.
The confidant further mentioned that the predicament significantly affected Wynne, and he intends to vigorously defend his position, as it holds immense importance for him.
Listeners on BBC Radio Wales express a strong affinity for him, creating various social media platforms as a testament to their backing and admiration.
The actor from the Go Compare commercials allegedly feels that his name has been unjustifiably damaged after he apologized for a highly offensive statement directed towards tour host Janette, following the release of footage showing the remark during the tour’s press conference.
Liz Brookes, his girlfriend who’s 50 years old, is standing by him during this scandal, giving him unwavering support as it appears that Wynne intends to take legal steps against the BBC.
Afterward, it became known among his associates that they weren’t taken aback by Wynne’s sexually suggestive comment, since this type of remark was already familiar to many of the experts and famous personalities participating in the tour.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’ve come across an interesting tidbit: a certain phrase was frequently noted, chuckled over, and casually thrown around during a recent tour. It seems to have become quite the catchphrase among those in the know!
The friends of the renowned Welsh figure confided to the media outlet that he is deeply saddened, as there was a notable absence of public support for him amidst the ongoing jest.
In the movie MoS, Wynne positions himself amidst a group of 20 celebrities and dancers, and Janette, the host of Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, is called over to join them. As she gets closer, Wynne playfully advises her, “Stay a bit away from Jamie [Borthwick]!
In that moment, I subtly make a hinting expression towards the actor while Janette is passing by, unaware behind her. And it was at this very instant when I cracked my rather inappropriate joke, aimed squarely at her.

Moments after, Aljaz Skorjanec, Janette’s dancer spouse, who was close by, inquires: ‘Sweetheart, are you alright?’ To which she responds briefly: ‘Yes.’
Janette’s representative stated that the host didn’t realize they made the comment by Wynne, as it was clearly heard by the journalist using a smartphone from about 20 yards (meters) away while recording.
In a previous scandal, the two-time father found himself in a sticky situation when onlookers noticed his dance partner, Katya Jones, forcefully pulling away his hand that had wandered towards her waist during their performance.
Currently, Wynne is preparing to take the stage again after the scandal, this time performing alongside another contentious figure from Strictly.
Last week, it became known that he will team up with ex-pro Giovanni Pernice at the Wight Proms festival this summer.
The event happening in August showcases a variety of entertainments such as comedy, opera, drag performances, musical theater, dance, sports, and many others.
