Returning Netflix hit with terrific star-studded cast goes straight into top UK shows on streaming

Black Mirror has surged up Netflix’s streaming chart following the release of its seventh season.

This week, the newest installment of Charlie Brooker’s science fiction series was released, and it quickly became popular among viewers, climbing up to the second spot on Netflix’s television series streaming rankings.

This current season, made up of six parts, features an impressive ensemble in each episode, showcasing significant contributions from Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Issa Rae, Will Poulter, and Paul Giamatti.

According to Digital Spy’s critique of the series, we highly praised the debut episode titled ‘Common People.’ This episode revolves around a pair, portrayed by Rashida Jones and Chris O’Dowd, who stumble upon a cutting-edge artifact that might have life-saving capabilities.

As a dedicated viewer, I couldn’t help but appreciate this exceptional episode, reminiscent of the series’ finest, as it delved into profound themes of humanity, love, and the double-edged sword that is technology. The performances by Jones and O’Dowd were nothing short of stirring, adding depth and emotion to the narrative.

Into Infinity,’ which served as a follow-up to season four’s ‘USS Callister,’ was somewhat divided. We referred to it as a “repeat” or “rehash” of its earlier version due to its similarities with the original.

It seems as though the creators of ‘Black Mirror’ revisited the Callister universe primarily due to fan demand, rather than having a compelling idea that needed immediate visualization on screen.

More recently, Brooker himself clarified the reasoning behind crafting a follow-up tale, stating: “Out of all our stories, this one (‘USS Callister’) concluded in such a way that it seemed ripe for a continuation.

After going through several changes, we ultimately expanded it into a full-length episode within the season. It was quite a challenge to put everything together – we dealt with the pandemic, writers’ strike, and coordinating everyone’s schedules, which felt like solving a Rubik’s cube while balancing on a unicycle.
