Michelle Keegan’s baby name is finally explained by husband Mark Wright

Mark Wright has explained the reason behind the name of his and wife Michelle Keegan’s baby.

Last month, the couple brought a new addition to their family, whom they named Palma. Recently, Mark shared the reason behind choosing this unique name for their child.

On “This Morning” this week, Mark joined Olly Murs for a promotion of their radio show. However, he dismissed rumors suggesting they had christened their child after a well-known Spanish vacation spot.

He remarked, “Reports indicate that’s the name they suggest,” further explaining, “The combination of ‘Palmer’ with an ‘er’ appealed to us greatly. We also found adding an ‘a’ at the end appealing for its sound. In essence, we have a strong affection for this name.

Mark expressed that being a parent is simply indescribable as the most incredible sensation on earth, although it does have its challenging moments. Fortunately, his friend and fellow radio host, Olly, welcomed a baby into his life last year, allowing Mark to offer him plenty of useful tips based on his own experiences.

During a recent Saturday morning broadcast on his Heart radio program, Mark shared his feelings about becoming a father.

He replied, “To be honest, expressing this is quite a challenge, but let me try. This momentous event is undeniably the pinnacle of my accomplishments; it’s always on my mind.

To be completely honest, I must tip my hat to my incredible wife. She’s more than just human; she’s a real-life superhero who has miraculously brought our baby into the world.

Reflecting on this, it becomes apparent how much our mothers sacrificed for us, which increases my admiration beyond what it was before. It also underscores the challenges that women historically faced.

Mark added, “That instant when I cradled her in my arms stirs emotions within me even as I recall it now. It’s an exceptionally unique sensation. Words fall short to describe it perfectly. After a period of waiting, pursuing our ambitions and careers, we find ourselves here. We have a child now.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV and streams on ITVX.
