When the cameras stopped rolling on Married At First Sight, I knew the drama wasn’t done.
In a typical move for a reality TV journalist who happens to have numerous contacts’ phone numbers, I decided to host my very own reunion.
Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of extending exclusive invitations to 13 prominent figures from this season, leading us to Ovolo Hotel in the vibrant Woolloomooloo district of Sydney. For an unforgettable evening, we transformed the waterfront venue into our private soiree. The ensuing dinner party was a whirlwind of excitement and energy, making it one of the most electrifying events I’ve ever had the privilege to host.
The cast didn’t hold back on the glam either.
Jamie oozed old-school Hollywood in a high-neck black gown with a dramatic choker neckline.
Carina sparkled in a metal chain-mail dress that wrapped around her midriff, accompanied by a tight, black miniskirt.

In a stunning teal pleated dress, Awhina stood out, while Ryan turned heads in a fashionable plum-colored suit, paired with a black shirt.
Behind the hum of cameras, the performers at last had the opportunity to express things that were off-limits during broadcast, even going beyond those limits.
As the resident lifestyle connoisseur, I must say that the gathering was nothing short of flawless. Food aficionados were delighted with a spread of delectable gourmet dishes, while we indulged in exquisite wines from St Hugo, refreshing beers from Balter Cerveza, and sipped on Teremana Tequila, a fine spirit crafted by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself.
Here are some of the most chaotic moments that played out:
Eliot and Jamie’s unexpected spark
On that evening, it was evident that Jamie Marinos was in a playful spirit, frequently referring to Eliot Donovan as her “spouse” and even planting a teasing kiss on him.
As I excitedly announced, “That’s mine!”, Eliot couldn’t hide his delight at joining in the fun. Pausing to share a laugh with the gathering, I added, “I guess I wasn’t the only one who thought it was Dave and Veronica!
Threesome talk gets… loud
The situation took a turn for the dramatic as the champagne started flowing generously. Eventually, Beth Kelly exclaimed unexpectedly: “Tonight, we’ll be three!

‘I popped my p***y!’
Yes, that was a direct quote from one of the brides.
In the midst of laughter over Cameo side jobs and foam party advertisements, one bride boastfully announced, ‘I just started a new venture!’, followed by her pitch for an adult-themed birthday greeting service. She priced her videos at $17 each, revealing that she received free drinks as part of the deal, adding, ‘I’m now available for hire!’
Jamie misses the sex… but Eliot’s a stand-in
In a playful moment within the group, Awhina Rutene added her two cents on what Jamie might miss about her former partner, Dave, by saying something along the lines of: “I bet Jamie misses how frequently they used to engage in intimate moments together.
Jamie didn’t deny it – instead she laughed, ‘That’s what Eliot’s for now!’
Eliot’s marriages are the punchline of the night
To his credit, Eliot took the ribbing like a champ.
‘He’s had two failed marriages,’ someone joked. ‘External validation is everything.’
Eliot laughed it off but was later urged to join Cameo. ‘I’d get paid in tequila,’ he replied.

Carina and Paul stay ‘amicable’ after the heartbreak
Carina Mirabile gracefully responded regarding Paul Antoine by assuring the guests they were in a solid place – referring to them as friends, and nothing more.
Ryan’s brutal reaction to Jacqui and Clint’s engagement
I was truly taken aback when the news about Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot’s post-show engagement broke – and I must admit, it didn’t exactly win my approval.
‘I just wanna say cheers to the happy couple,’ he said, his voice dripping in sarcasm.
‘It was completely candid, unplanned, not a publicity stunt whatsoever. I’m so happy.’
When I inquired whether he was concerned that Jacqui might suddenly appear, he chuckled and replied, “They’ve been provided with her picture.
Awhina swears off men for 75 days… sort of
Awhina happily proclaimed, “I won’t see men for the next 75 days!” She was making a commitment to abstain from romantic relationships during this period, instead devoting her time to physical fitness and personal development.
While I’m deep into my five-day break from romantic entanglements, I must confess that I do have a speed dating event on my schedule. Balancing self-care and social interaction can be tricky, but it’s all part of the journey to finding the right connection.

Katie laughs off Tim ‘Gutter’ Gromie
Katie Johnston admitted that she hadn’t yet received the promised long-awaited kiss from her husband, Tim Gromie, who seems to be in a perpetual gloom. With a chuckle, she declared, “He still owes me one!
Visitors jokingly suggested she may have to catch up with him in the alleyway – a humorous allusion to an embarrassing photograph of the bridegroom, which became popular after his departure from the program.
Those unkind jokes aside, no one seemed to know what the hell happened to Tim.
If you’re out there and fancy doing that interview, you still have my number…
Ashleigh is done with TV for good
When asked about going back to Married At First Sight, Ashleigh Ackerman was firm in her response. “Definitely not,” she said decisively.
Everyone laughs at Billy Belcher
Billy might not have been present, yet it seemed like he was, considering how frequently his name came up among the other attendees.
One party-goer joked he’ll be trying to flog birthday greetings on Cameo for $84.

Tony throws shade at Morena
When asked if he was concerned about Morena Farina attending the party, Tony Mojanovski chuckled and said, “Since there aren’t any revolving doors around, I doubt I’ll catch a glimpse of her entering unexpectedly.
He added that he’d been ‘practising yoga’.
For several months, I’ve had formal interviews with these individuals, but the most authentic interactions occur when they are speaking freely, slightly under the influence, and uncensored for a few hours without a script.

By the close of the evening, my phone was brimming with fuzzy selfies, my laughter had left me with a sore throat, and it appeared that more than a few of the performers were discussing potential collaborations for a post-performance podcast or OnlyFans projects.
I’m not going to lie, it was a night almost everybody needed.
The day after, Eliot and a few others expressed their gratitude towards me, mentioning that my event was among the best moments they enjoyed during the entire performance.
Channel Nine, if you’re reading this: next time, film the after-party.
