ASICS is making its way to London for a new collaboration, this time partnering with eco-friendly label Story mfg. They’ve redesigned the GEL-VENTURE 6 in two gingham-style models that combine craftsmanship and functionality. Established in 2013 by couple Saeed and Katy Al-Rubeyi, Story mfg. is recognized for its slow-made, sustainable fashion philosophy. This is the brand’s debut sneaker collaboration, combining considered design with ethical manufacturing processes.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the latest Story mfg. x ASICS GEL-VENTURE 6 drops in two earthy shades: “Reddish Brown” and “Vanilla Violet Quartz”. These bad boys boast breathable mesh uppers adorned with gingham check panels, giving them a vintage, handcrafted vibe that’s perfect for the trail. A unique double-lacing system, complete with vertically woven gingham laces, adds a fun, textured quirkiness. The tonal midsoles and ASICS’ iconic stripes tie the design together, while the branding is playfully divided: the Story mfg. logo graces the right tongue, while the ASICS logo stays on the left. Classic GEL-VENTURE 6 details at the heel and a Gel-cushioned outsole complete the design, offering both style and comfort. Can’t wait to hit the trails with these!
Prior to its worldwide launch, Story mfg. is organizing a pop-up event in London from the 11th to the 12th of April. During this event, pairs will be available for early purchase. The full online release through Story mfg.’s platform happens on the 13th of April, followed by a global launch on the 18th of April.
