Eric Dane announces ALS diagnosis, will return to ‘Euphoria’ set next week

It appears that the well-known actor Eric Dane, recognized primarily for his performances in “Grey’s Anatomy” and lately in “Euphoria,” is said to be diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which is also called Lou Gehrig’s disease.

On Thursday, the actor openly discussed his health condition with People magazine, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to keep working in the industry. He also mentioned his plan to resume filming for “Euphoria” the following week.

He expressed gratitude to have his dear family with him during this new phase, asking for personal space for himself and his loved ones, as he shared this with People magazine.

The timeline can vary greatly, but many affected individuals typically live between three to five years after their initial symptoms appear, although some remarkably resilient people manage to survive for a lot longer.

Dane, 52, is married to actor Rebecca Gayheart, with whom he has two daughters.

The performer has openly discussed his struggle with depression and his journey towards abstinence following substance abuse issues with drugs and alcohol.
