Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll & More Join CoComelon for New YouTube Series
The new show brings together JJ and the characters from CoComelon with popular, cute Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty for fun singalongs, games, and more. It features the classic, charming animation style of Sanrio, giving fans a fresh take on the world of CoComelon and its musical stories.
Each episode of the show is about three minutes long and was created with help from experts in education and culture to make it a great learning experience for kids. According to an official announcement, “CoComelon Playdates with Sanrio Friends” uses calm, musical stories to help children develop important social and emotional skills, teaching them about kindness, sharing, and working together.
Nicole Rivera, a Creative Executive at CoComelon, explained that the new series, CoComelon Playdates with Sanrio Friends, combines the popular worlds of CoComelon and Sanrio in a way that’s fun, heartwarming, and helps young children learn and grow. The show blends music, friendship, and play to offer a new experience for families, while still capturing the unique charm of both brands.
Kosuke Hamasaki, Executive Director of Character Branding at Sanrio, shared that they’re excited to partner with CoComelon to create fun and educational experiences for children. Both companies will use their strengths in connecting with audiences, and Sanrio hopes to bring smiles and happiness to families worldwide, staying true to their motto of ‘One World, Connecting Smiles’.
Kevin Mayer, co-founder and co-CEO of Candle Media, which owns Moonbug Entertainment, expressed excitement about a collaboration with Sanrio. He stated they plan to create new content that combines the charming and funny aspects of CoComelon with Sanrio’s popular characters, aiming to entertain families globally. Mayer believes this partnership has significant creative possibilities and promised to reveal more details later this year.
The new show CoComelon Playdates with Sanrio Friends isn’t the only exciting news for Hello Kitty fans. A movie produced by Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema is also coming to theaters on July 21, 2028.
