Keely Brosnan Shares Heartwarming Red Carpet Throwbacks for 31-Year Anniversary

Keely, Pierce Brosnan’s spouse, expressed heartfelt admiration for her husband in a series of nostalgic photos, as they commemorate 31 years of marriage.

On Instagram on Wednesday, the 61-year-old journalist posted a collection of photos from various red carpets events they’ve attended together since they initially met in Mexico in 1994.

Marking the date of when they met she added: ‘Happy Anniversary my love! 4-8-94 was my lucky day.’

More recently, Pierce, aged 71, and Keely gained attention following their stunning appearance at the MobLand premiere held in New York City last month.

In 2001, Keely married an actor and showed off her significant weight loss, approximately 7 stones, in a stylish black minidress featuring three-quarter sleeves adorned with lace.

After so many years, the pair continued to adore each other deeply, and Pierce had never hesitated to praise his spouse in interviews or on social media.

Previously, the actor was married to Cassandra Harris. After her former husband’s demise in 1986, he took on the role of father to their daughter Charlotte and son Christopher. In addition, they had a child together, Sean, who was born in 1983.

Charlotte died from ovarian cancer in 2013 at age 41.

Just over three years on after Charlotte’s tragic passing, Pierce met Keely while in Mexico. 

In 1994, while encountering Pierce in Mexico, Keely expressed to People magazine that she was instantly drawn to him due to his captivating charm and the playful glimmer in his eyes.

In that very interview, the actor expressed about his wife, Keely Shaye, “I couldn’t find anyone as wonderful even if I looked a million times over.

Speaking to The Irish Times in 2013, he praised Keely for her kindness and compassion during his grief after losing his first wife, Cassie. He stated, ‘Keely has consistently guided me through this difficult time by encouraging me to mourn Cassie. In essence, Keely serves as my guiding light.’

In 2022, following their 21st wedding anniversary in August, the star publicly stood by his wife when a hurtful post regarding Keely’s weight spread rapidly on Facebook.

The post, now removed from sight, previously contained comments where trolls made remarks about the differences they perceived in her physique since she initially encountered Pierce in 1994.

Friends suggested she undergo weight reduction surgery, but I cherish each contour of her physique profoundly.

‘She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes. And also because she had our five children.’

He went on saying: “I have always admired her as a person, not just for her looks, and now I love her even deeper because she is the mother of my children.

‘And I am very proud of her, and I always seek to be worthy of her love.’

Additionally, Pierce frequently expresses his affection and dedication towards Keely on Instagram, a platform they use to commemorate significant events such as anniversaries and birthdays together.

In September 2023, as Keely turns sixty, Pierce wrote in his birthday post: ‘Sixty beautiful roses for my dearest girl with the brown eyes on her sixtieth birthday.’

Speaking about that encounter, he noted: “I felt incredibly fortunate and blessed to have been seated there as you rounded the corner on a sunny morning in Cabo San Lucas.

In addition to standing by her spouse, Keely endured profound sorrow with him when their eldest daughter Charlotte passed away in 2013 due to ovarian cancer – the same illness that took Charlotte’s grandmother’s life 21 years prior. At the tender age of 42, Charlotte left behind a heart-wrenching legacy.

Towards the end of that year, he shared with the Irish Mirror his experience, explaining that his wife remained a source of comfort amidst his sorrow. He expressed, “Love is nothing short of the most beautiful and joyful sensation. It can originate from various sources.

I’m hoping it’s the person who shares your bed each night, the one found nestled on the pillow next to you every morning – my spouse.

He mentioned: “It appears we thrive on companionship, sharing love, and most crucially, appreciating one another. The aspect of liking each other is truly significant. Love may not always blaze fiercely.

It’s quite overwhelming, yet delightful. I express my affection daily. It’s significant to make sure she knows.
