Rachel McAdams’ Luxe Sydney Hideaway Hits Market for $16M!

The captivating residence in Sydney, once a secret retreat for the acclaimed actress Rachel McAdams from Hollywood, is now available for sale.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share that Rachel McAdams, aged 46, was temporarily residing in a private four-bedroom abode in Woollahra, serving as her Australian headquarters during the filming of Sam Raimi’s chilling production, Send Help.

Now, the Palm-Springs-style home has hit the market with price expectations at the $16million mark.

At present, Natasha Stanley and Kingsley Smith are the proprietors of the property. They are also the owners of a popular Sydney pub known as The London Hotel, as well as the Bondi restaurant called China Diner.

In 2018, the couple acquired a property for approximately $6.55 million through a private transaction, as reported by the Wentworth Courier.

They’ve brought in Alex Lyons from Raine & Horne Double Bay/Bondi Beach and Maclay Longhurst from Sotheby’s International Realty Sydney to generate excitement for this high-end property.

‘The way it’s finished is incredible,’ Lyons said.

Furthermore, the secluded location along a private driveway seems to be a key factor attracting individuals like Rachel and other celebrities to this residence.

‘It’s just so cool, and located right in the middle of Woollahra.’

Nestled on a spacious 936-square-meter plot, this luxurious home showcases an extravagant design, crafted by the celebrated architect, Iain Halliday.

Built in 1959, the house retains much of its original charm as well as a raft of modern inclusions.

This two-story dwelling features an expansive combined living and dining space, accentuated by a lofty, double-height roof structure.

The airy space opens on to both a private balcony and patio.

The kitchen boasts a beautiful blend of rose terrazzo and Carrara marble, showcasing an island counter, a handy butler’s pantry, and top-notch features such as Wolf cooking appliances and dual Miele dishwashers.

Upstairs, I’m delighted to find that each of the three spacious bedrooms boasts its own built-in closet system and private ensuite bathroom, offering a touch of luxury in every corner. Down below, there’s an additional guest room for your friends or family who might decide to join you on this journey of life.

A spacious, versatile lounge area adjoins seamlessly to the pool deck, overlooking a 13-meter warm pool nestled amidst lush, mature tropical landscaping.

Besides the rooms, this house boasts five bathrooms, each equipped with cozy underfloor heating that warms your toes. Plus, it offers air conditioning system distributed across the entire property.

Peace of mind is assured for security-focused purchasers, since this property is equipped with a central monitoring alarm system, driveway alerts, video intercom, and a Control4 intelligent home system.

Rachel was no doubt enjoying the luxe property while Down Under filming Send Help.

In collaboration terms, Rachel hasn’t worked with director Sam Raimi since the 2022 release of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, but that is about to change with this upcoming horror film.

Based on reports from Deadline, the upcoming film is characterized as a chilling horror-thriller featuring only two main characters, taking place on an isolated island. The movie can be likened to a blend between Rob Reiner’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery and Robert Zemeckis’ timeless Castaway.

Rachel previously opened up about working with Raimi and told Collider in a past interview in 2022

‘I love Sam so much. He’s just such a pro, but he’s so humble and so collaborative,’ she said.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but marvel at his kindness. You’d think the creators of chilling horrors would be intimidating, but he’s just the opposite. It’s downright peculiar!

The About Time actress added, ‘Like Wes Craven, same thing. Nice, he’s most soft spoken person.

‘And then they just exercise it all on the screen, which is the best place to do it…’

The movie will also feature Dylan O’Brien, Dennis Haysbert, and interestingly, Ryan Donnelly from the show “Married at First Sight.

The film’s US release is slated for January 30, 2026.
