Lizzo modeled a demure look as she showed off her recent weight loss in New York City on Wednesday.

At the recent Breakthrough Prize event, the captivating 36-year-old musician graced the occasion in a light-toned denim trench coat and wore a scarf of the same color loosely around her neck.

The stylish woman from Michigan accessorized with black details, wearing a pair of gloves and sleek, pointed-toe slingback shoes with a small heel.

Despite her modest look, the singer’s frame was noticeably slimmer.

She seemed very cheerful, showing off her bright smile, accentuated by a radiant makeup look with warm shades.

This week, Lizzo (originally Melissa Jefferson) appeared as a guest on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast. During the conversation, they delved into her personal experience with body transformation.

In my commitment to a planned weight loss process, I’ve chosen to embark on a journey of intentional weight reduction.

The composer of “About Damn Time” added, ‘I shared it online, I spoke up about it, and I believe that over the past year and a half, as I’ve been working on it, my body has been subtly transforming – but I don’t think people were taking notice.’

She expressed, “Throughout this experience, I remained firmly against fatphobia. However, it’s crucial to remember that not everyone is constantly observing your actions, not everyone sees every post you share, and not everyone is aware of the struggles you face on a daily basis.

Surprisingly, fans found it hard to recognize a noticeably slimmer Lizzo when she debuted her first single “Love In Real Life” from her forthcoming album earlier this year.

It was followed by a second song, Still Bad, which she is actively promoting on social media.

In an interview on Shetty’s podcast, she clarified that because people don’t see her everyday, changes in her appearance – like when she appears on the red carpet or a video becomes viral – can seem abrupt and unexpected to others.

2019 saw the meteoric rise of Lizzo, who at that time carried more weight, and swiftly emerged as a vocal advocate for self-love and acceptance, particularly focusing on body positivity.

During our conversation with Jay this past week, she mentioned, “Many people found my weight loss quite surprising.

Lizzo made a triumphant return to the stage in March with a show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

In a chat with the crowd during breaks between tunes, she shared insights about her battle with depression that came on the heels of facing sexual harassment accusations from her backing dancers back in 2023.

She confessed things got so ‘dark’ for her at times that she started to have suicidal thoughts.

The classically-trained musician explained that they titled their album “Love In Real Life” as they had experienced a severe depression approximately a year and a half prior – discussing this topic is extremely challenging for them.

Initially, the world left her with such profound sadness and pain that she considered ending her life, and her fear of people was overwhelming to the point where she wanted to remain hidden. However, eventually, she managed to overcome that fear.

In a concert, the music producer expressed that her significant moment happened when a total stranger there turned to her and exclaimed, “Lizzo, I admire you!
