The Last of Us gets future confirmed – just days before season 2 release
The Last of Us TV show has had its future confirmed, just days ahead of the season 2 premiere.
In an exciting turn of events, the post-apocalyptic series, derived from the video game saga with the same title, is set to return this coming Sunday (13th April).
And fans won’t need to fear that this is the end, as season 3 is officially happening.

Concurrently with the unveiling of season 3, showrunner Craig Mazin stated (through The Hollywood Reporter): “Our intention for season 2 was to produce something we could take pride in.
Our achievements surpassed our highest expectations, largely due to our ongoing partnership with HBO and the exceptional performances by an unmatched team. We eagerly anticipate exploring further tales from ‘The Last of Us’ in season 3.
Neil Druckmann, one of the showrunners, stated that witnessing “The Last of Us” be so beautifully and accurately adapted has been a significant milestone in his career. He expressed gratitude for the fans’ passionate and overwhelming response. A large part of this success, he said, is due to Craig Mazin, our partnership with HBO, PlayStation Productions, and our dedicated team.

Speaking about it, HBO’s head of drama series and films, Francesca Orsi, emphasized that they are incredibly proud of the exceptional accomplishment they believe the second season of “The Last of Us” has achieved.

The makers behind the television series “The Last of Us” have announced that Season 2 will follow the initial portion of the video game “The Last of Us Part 2”. It’s anticipated that Season 3 could delve into the remaining half of the game, potentially serving as the concluding season.
The television series “The Last of Us” is broadcast in the United States on HBO, while in the UK it airs on Sky Atlantic and the streaming platform NOW. Currently, they are producing season 2.
