Robert Pattinson May Play ‘Dune: Messiah’ Villain
Robert Pattinson is reportedly being considered for a villain role in Dune: Messiah.
In simple terms, the upcoming science fiction movie, which is the third part of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy, is rumored to feature Robert Pattinson, aged 38, as the character Scytale, who might be portrayed as the antagonist.
In the story “Dune: Messiah,” there’s a character who serves as both a master of disguise (Face Dancer) and a covert operative for the Bene Tleilax. This individual plays a pivotal part in the plot, working behind the scenes to undermine Paul Atreides by employing deceit, genetic tampering, and political maneuvering as part of a broader scheme to overthrow him.
According to Deadline’s report, neither Warner Bros. nor Legendary have made an official proposal to Robert Pattinson regarding his potential role in the Mickey 17 movie.
Should the actor from “The Batman” agree to take part in “Dune: Messiah”, he would be teaming up with a distinguished ensemble, featuring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa. Notably, Momoa will reprise his character as the revived Duncan Idaho in this production.
In my perspective, I’m excitedly anticipating the adaptation of “Dune: Messiah,” originally penned by Frank Herbert in 1969. As Paul Atreides (Chalamet), I find myself 12 years into my rule as Emperor of the Universe. The religious fervor surrounding me is escalating, and I struggle to maintain control, as a devastating war, fought under my auspices and claiming billions of lives across the galaxy, spirals out of hand.
Dune: Messiah is reportedly set to begin filming in June ahead of its December 2026 release date.
While Pattinson gears up for filming The Batman Sequel, it’s worth noting that the actor has expressed concerns about feeling too old when the DC superhero film is eventually produced.
In an interview with his Mickey 17 co-star Naomi Ackie for Hero magazine, Robert Pattinson expressed his hope that he’d reprise the role of Batman soon, stating: “I truly hope so. I began as the young Batman and will be the seasoned Batman by the sequel.
In addition to Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman, the sequel The Batman Part II will also bring back Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
Initially slated for a theater release in October 2026, “The Batman Part II” faced a delay and is now set to premiere in the following year, allowing director Matt Reeves additional time to complete the plot. In February, Robert Pattinson hinted that filming for “The Batman Part II” would likely commence towards the end of 2025.
