James Kennedy’s Ex Reveals Shocking Truth About Domestic Violence Arrest

For the first time, Ally Lewber publicly addressed her former partner James Kennedy’s arrest. She described it as a significant moment that served as a “wake-up call” for her.

33-year-old Kennedy was apprehended under suspicion of domestic violence in December 2024, following an altercation with Lewber, who is 29 years old. In a recent conversation with People, Lewber discusses her path to recovery from this incident.

As per Lewber’s account, although they didn’t engage in any physical confrontation, there was a heated discussion that night concerning Kennedy’s drinking habits, a matter of contention in their partnership.

She mentioned that she wasn’t sure who dialed the police, but they arrived nonetheless. They evaluated the circumstances, and fortunately, she didn’t sustain any physical injuries. However, emotionally, she was affected. Unfortunately, that’s essentially how the evening unfolded.

As per the records detailing the event, a police officer noted a claim from a woman within the dwelling, suggesting that her partner had picked her up and violently tossed her onto the floor. The report failed to specifically name this woman as Lewber.

In the end, Kennedy was not charged by the authorities, and Lewber continues to assert that the incident was merely a heated verbal exchange.

She remarked, “This week was a mix of great heights and deep valleys.” She went on to share that they had recorded her debut episode for the new podcast, StarStruck, with James as her first guest. The energy was fantastic, they enjoyed themselves immensely. However, the following evening was the Kathy Hilton event.

Just a few short hours prior to my own encounter with the authorities, I found myself in an enchanting atmosphere – Hilton’s annual Christmas soiree. Accompanying me at this festive gathering was my esteemed companion, Lewber, who happens to be an astrologer of remarkable skill. In the heart of the celebration, Lewber was gracefully interpreting a birth chart for none other than Hilton herself.

Ally said Kennedy ‘was drinking behind my back while I was working.’

She said after she finished work and met him, James’ ‘whole demeanor changed.’

‘And I could kind of tell, like, ‘Have you been drinking?”‘ she added.

Through Lewber’s words, it is clear that she didn’t think Kennedy had violated his sobriety because he had already been in recovery from alcohol addiction for a year.

She wondered if, since he appeared to be sober, perhaps he had consumed coffee,” she mused.

‘I was like, “Why is he so electric right now?”‘

She said once they got in the car, things ‘kind of spiraled.’

I said, “It’s clear you’ve had something to drink,” because after taking a small sip, his behavior noticeably altered.

In my personal experience, abstaining from alcohol was not up for discussion within my relationship, and the atmosphere between us was often tense.

In the car, Ally’s friend Jack tagged along, and Ally explained their situation, saying there was tension as she felt Kennedy was manipulating or misleading her.

He claimed he wasn’t intoxicated while accusing me of being drunk. I denied it. Our argument didn’t end inside the Uber; instead, it escalated further once we stepped out. I expressed my discomfort by saying, “I don’t want to be here.” The fight continued even outside.

Tensions escalated to the point that police were called.

Ally says she requested that the police ‘breathalyze’ James.

‘Since he kept insisting he wasn’t intoxicated at the moment, my immediate response when they arrived was to suggest a breathalyzer test. Unfortunately, they informed me that it wasn’t permissible. However, they eventually acknowledged that he was indeed drunk. I appreciated their confirmation.’

Ally says initially she wanted to just ‘take space’ as she was ‘heartbroken and sad.’

In my personal experience, although I thought our relationship with James seemed almost like a fairy tale, my therapist explained that it wasn’t due to the fact that he had been deceiving me. Thus, the magic of it all was just an illusion.

Later on, Lewber found out that Kennedy was drinking secretly, and as a result of therapy, she understood that ending the relationship was essential.

She clarified that during their relationship, neither she nor anyone else had ever been physically harmed, and she always felt secure.

‘Initially, I felt like I was constantly tiptoeing and feeling uneasy about his potential outbursts, without fully realizing it until I had some distance. But now, it seems my nervous system has returned to a normal state, free from the constant anxiety of avoiding his anger. Keeping an eye on someone’s actions isn’t beneficial for one’s health.’

She mentioned that parting ways wasn’t straightforward: ‘There were many instances that had to occur, but at the time, it wasn’t simple.’

Ally said that after the incident she ‘immediately just felt bad’ for James.

As a devoted supporter, I understand his deep regret over his past actions – he yearns to have been stronger than the grip of alcohol. This reality fills me with sadness, as it’s truly unfortunate. However, I find myself filled with pride due to his current commitment to AA and his diligent work on the program. It brings me great joy to anticipate his continued healing journey.

She noted that James is usually fantastic, about 90% of the time. However, it’s during those 10% instances that aren’t enjoyable where his flaws surface.

Ally also stated that she is no longer in contact with Kennedy.

In terms of potential partners, Ally mentioned that she is seeking someone who doesn’t require her to make changes, someone who is already self-sufficient and well-rounded.

In January, Lewber officially ended her relationship with Kennedy, shortly after news broke that he wouldn’t be charged following his domestic violence accusations.

On her Instagram Stories, she posted a heartfelt note, signaling that the relationship with her partner had ended after two years together.

In a message penned by Lewber, gratitude was expressed for the ongoing support and kindness shown. He mentioned with relief that the prosecutors chose not to bring charges against James, as he had never wished for criminal proceedings. The situation stemmed from an argument outside of James’ residence, which was sparked by James’ drinking habit; however, Lewber clarified that he did not sustain any physical injuries.

The astrologer admitted she was ‘disheartened by how the event was portrayed.’

She stated that she’s no longer with James, but she will continue to be there for him in his journey towards sobriety and healing. She expressed her gratitude for everyone’s understanding in this matter.

After weeks of whispers and guesswork about our relationship status, Ally finally put the rumors to rest. The storm that broke on December 11 was triggered by Kennedy’s arrest, an event that unfolded when Burbank police answered a call reporting a heated argument between us at his home around 11:30 p.m.

According to a witness, there was an instance where Kennedy and a woman were seen having a heated disagreement, and reports suggest that at some point, the reality star physically interacted with the female. However, authorities stated they didn’t observe any apparent wounds on the woman.
