The Strokes are planning a major comeback in 2026. They’ll be releasing a new album, Reality Awaits, on June 26th, and then hitting the road for a large tour starting that same month.
The Strokes spent years releasing music inconsistently and didn’t focus much on building a direct relationship with their fans. While their music was generally excellent, the New York band largely maintained its popularity by becoming well-known simply for being famous – a kind of celebrity status.
They’ll have to work a little harder to prove themselves this time. While their new album likely won’t reach the same heights as their classic debut, Is This It – that might just be an unrealistic expectation. A bigger worry right now is that their latest song, “Going Shopping,” isn’t very strong.
