The captivating British thriller titled “Tornado,” featuring Jack Lowden and Tim Roth, has unveiled its foreboding initial trailer.
The movie, titled “Slow West” and directed by John Maclean, chronicles a traveling samurai troupe in 18th-century Britain. They encounter a dangerous criminal group, leading the main character (Kōki) to devise a strategy to outwit them rather than submit to their control.
Before its premiere on June 13th, a sneak peek was unveiled, showcasing Tornado’s fierce confrontation with the malevolent Sugarman (Roth), who appears to have no hesitation in shedding blood whenever the opportunity arises.
As a dedicated fan, I’d rephrase it like this: I myself follow each character closely, observing that Tornado often travels with her dad, Fujin or Takehiro Hira. On the other hand, Sugarman has his son, Little Sugar (Lowden), by his side. This young man, with a threatening tone, cautions Tornado about the perils she’s stumbled upon.
Despite not hitting cinemas for a couple more months, the movie titled “Tornado” has been creating quite a stir after its world premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival in February. Our own review characterizes it as a “taunt and gritty thriller,” one that subtly transforms into a reincarnation of a timeless genre.

We praised the well-executed performance and found the gruesome deaths to be relieving after a tense lead-up. Moreover, viewers might perceive Lowden differently after seeing him play the powerless character.
In the whirlwind of Tornado, I might reveal my sinister self, but fear not! The tables will turn, and once again, I’ll be stepping into the shoes of River Cartwright for Apple TV+’s Slow Horses. This spy saga is gearing up for its fifth season this year, where I’ll be a hero… or at least, a different kind of character.

As the fifth season is now being produced, the series has been guaranteed to continue for several more years, as a sixth season, adapted from Mick Herron’s “Joe Country” and “Slough House,” was given the go-ahead in October.
Folks worldwide have developed a fondness for the ‘Slow Horses’, and I’m thrilled that Gary Oldman will be spearheading an illustrious group of actors on another witty and action-packed journey,” commented Jay Hunt, Creative Director for Europe at Apple TV+, in a statement.
In the UK and Ireland, the movie “Tornado” hits the big screens on May 23rd, while “Slow Horses” becomes available for streaming on Apple TV+.
