Jessie Wallace Stuns in Quirky Outfit While Running Errands in North London!
Actress Jessie Wallace, known for her role in EastEnders, showed off an unusual style while going about her tasks in North London.
The soap star, 53, was spotted enjoying the sunshine on Monday as she picked up some groceries.
For her outing, Jesse chose an outfit that resembled nightwear, wearing a pair of soft, white, slipper-like sandals with buckles.
Instead of wearing the sandals with a cream silk midi dress that resembled a nightgown, she opted to layer it with a longline green and brown patterned kimono. She also donned large cream-colored sunglasses as a final touch to her outfit.
Jessie beamed with joy as she chatted on the phone, holding a bag from Marks and Spencer.
For a quarter of a century, the actress has portrayed Kat Slater, both intermittently and consistently, within the long-running soap opera, EastEnders. She has been pivotal to many significant plot developments in the series.
Her distinctive look is a result of her recent change from managing The Queen Vic to working at an East London café last month, where she now serves coffee to surprised patrons while playing the role of barista.
She pulled over at the well-known E Pellicci in Bethnal Green and instantly pitched in, assisting the team during the weekend bustle.
The star also delighted customers at the long-standing, family-owned Italian eatery (established in 1900), by reciting some of her famous catchphrases from the series.
At one time, a group of people in the café echoed the phrase, “You’re not my mother!”, reminiscent of Zoe Slater’s memorable outburst in a 2001 episode. This exclamation was triggered when she learned that Kat was not her real sister and had been born as a result of rape.
After that, Jessie loudly declared her character’s famous comeback, ‘Indeed, I am!’, causing great joy among the crowd at E Pellicci.
A famous soap actor took a collection of charming pictures alongside the café’s team members and patrons. These images were subsequently shared on the café’s Instagram account.

In a conversation with fellow actor Lacey Turner (age 36) during her podcast in January, Jessie disclosed that her iconic phrase was initially intended to be spoken softly, but she doubted that muttering those three words gently would have the desired effect.
When inquired about alterations to the scene, Jesse expressed: “Tony Jordan penned it as I softly murmured it. But I felt, ‘if I’ve been keeping this secret for 18 years, I’ll shout it loud.’
Simultaneously, the actress expressed a desire for Michelle Ryan, who is now 40 years old, to rejoin the soap after she left her role as Zoe in 2005.
Lacey said, “I really hope she returns. What do you think about that? ‘Hello Mum’. That just gave me chills,” and Jesse replied, “Is there a way to make that possible? I believe it would be wonderful. I think it’d be delightful.
Regarding the significant story arc involving Kat and Zoe, Lacey inquired: ‘Were you anticipating such a massive response? I vividly recall us, along with the entire country, tuning in to that episode. Quite astonishingly, it drew 19 million viewers.’
Jesse expressed gratitude for being entrusted with the storyline, but also admitted it was quite challenging.
In the conversation about the storyline, it became clear that Kat had been sexually abused by her Uncle Harry at a young age, leading to the birth of Zoe when she was only 14. During this discussion, Jessie reminisced: ‘This was during a time when we used to receive huge bags full of fan mail.’
Mostly, it was teenage girls who were experiencing similar situations, connecting with Kat and seeking assistance from me.
‘But I’m an actor and it had to be passed on to the NSPCC, which was really tough.’
