Jack Black Rocks SNL, Reunites with School of Rock Cast!

Over the weekend, Jack Black made a return as host for the fourth time on Saturday Night Live, promoting his upcoming movie titled “A Minecraft Film.” This occasion allowed him to reconnect with some of his co-stars from another popular film.

55-year-old Black chose to deviate from the conventional speech, instead captivating the crowd with an original song composed uniquely for this event.

While the lead singer of Tenacious D navigated the crowd below, there in the balcony sat three actors who had starred in the popular film School of Rock from 2003.

Brian Falduto, Rivkah Reyes, and Z Infante cheered and applauded enthusiastically when Black brought on a marching band for the performance.

In an Instagram post, Reyes, who portrayed the character Katie, a music student, in the musical comedy, showcased pictures of herself along with her old bandmates in a lively series of snapshots.

She expressed her fun-filled time in a place reminiscent of heaven, using the hashtag #nbcsnl and mentioning @jackblack, mirroring Morgan Wallen’s phrase about leaving quickly for “God’s country.” Her post was a playful reference to Wallen’s explanation for his unexpected exit during the goodnight segment, where he stated he needed to get to “God’s country” to connect with his spiritual side.

‘Thought I spotted yall!’ wrote one fan.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled to see that you had an incredible time! It’s heartening to know you got to experience one of my favorite actress and singer’s passion – line dancing. I truly hope they seize this opportunity and learn a thing or two about it while in the city.

‘So much love,’ commented Faltudo.

In 2023, the cast of School of Rock got together again to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary. During this reunion, Miranda Cosgrove, who portrayed Summer, shared with People her appreciation for her past mentor.

According to Cosgrove, he finds Jack Black simply incredible. He’s managed to stay connected with most of the cast members from the film since our time together in the project.

22 years after first meeting on the set of School of Rock in January, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli exchanged vows in January.

In the movie, the character played by Black, named Dewey Finn, disguises himself as a temporary teacher at an elite private school following his expulsion from his rock group.

The film was well received when it opened, but has since become a cult classic.

Over the weekend, Black’s A Movie based on the well-loved Minecraft video game debuted as the top film, earning a whopping $157 million within U.S. borders and an additional $144 million from international audiences.

Recently, the multitalented actor added another success to his repertoire with yet another box-office smash. Notably, he has graced the top of the charts in popular movies like “The Super Mario Bros Movie,” the “Jumanji” series, and the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise.

Reflecting on his illustrious career during an interview on IMDB in 2018, Jack mentioned that the movie “School of Rock” stands out as the top film he’s ever been a part of.

He clarified, “‘This was the perfect alignment of events,’ he said. ‘We had the initial reading before we even began filming, where all the child actors were selected and we were in New York City, gathered around a table to read it aloud. When I heard it, I exclaimed, “This is fantastic!”‘
