Dennis the Menace Star Jay North Dies at 73 After Cancer Battle
Jay North, once a well-known child actor, sadly passed away at the age of 73, after a prolonged fight against cancer. His peaceful departure took place in the comfort of his own home around midday on a Sunday.
Born and raised in Hollywood, this individual gained significant recognition for portraying the lead character in the CBS sitcom, “Dennis the Menace,” a television adaptation of the popular Hank Ketcham comic strip. The show ran successfully for four seasons between 1959 and 1963.
Jeanne Russell shared some very unfortunate and, unfortunately, not surprising news with us,” is how Laurie Jacobson put it on Facebook about Jay.
‘Throughout his time in Hollywood, he faced numerous challenges, but never allowed them to shape his life entirely. His heart was vast like a mountain, and he cherished his friends immensely. He would often reach out to us, always signing off with “I love you with all my heart.”‘
‘We cherished him deeply, as both a lifelong companion of Jon’s, a sibling to Jeanne, and a beloved friend to me. We will feel his absence deeply. Now he has found relief from his pain and suffering, finally experiencing peace.’
