Jesy Nelson’s Twin Miracle: Emergency Surgery & Hospital Stay Update!

Jesy Nelson recently shared updates about her twin babies with fans, following a life-saving operation.

Last month, the band member from Little Mix, who is 34 years old, revealed that she was diagnosed with pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This condition poses a potential threat to one or both of her unborn babies, as it might lead to their deaths. She later shared her emotional struggles and disclosed that she had to undergo an emergency medical procedure due to this diagnosis.

Because the process that Jesy disclosed turned out well, medical professionals have advised her to remain hospitalized until she completes a specific number of weeks in her pregnancy, as there are concerns she might experience premature labor.

In a recent Instagram update on Sunday, Jesy mentioned that she and her partner Zion Foster were both at the hospital. If she wished to step outside for some fresh air, they needed to utilize a wheelchair.

She addressed her followers saying, “Hey everyone, it’s a lovely Sunday! We’re popping in to share that we’ve made it through another week, and we’re filled with gratitude and blessings as our little ones continue to thrive.

I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the lovely, supportive, and beautiful messages you’ve sent us. Each one has added a touch of warmth, and we appreciate your kindness immensely. Thank you!

We’ve greatly appreciated the heartwarming messages you’ve sent, they’ve provided a tremendous boost. So, we simply wanted to express our gratitude for your support.

I hope you’re basking in the sunlight. Regrettably, we aren’t able to do so ourselves. However, Zion does take me out in a wheelchair along the road, but our journey doesn’t extend much beyond there.

Jesy then ended her post by telling her followers that she would keep them updated on her progress.

Last week, Jesy disclosed that she had a critical operation recently due to the detection of pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, which implied that either, or possibly both, her unborn twins were in danger of losing their lives.

Following several weeks of healing, the singer along with her partner Zion shared on Instagram that the operation was a success. They expressed their appreciation for the positive outcome.

From my cozy hospital nest, I’m sending warm greetings to all of you! It’s been a spell since we last connected, and I thought it was high time for some updates. Hope this message finds you well!

It appears we’re still at the hospital, but there’s fantastic news on the horizon. I’ve been working hard on my recovery.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that my recent TTTS ordeal has miraculously resolved itself, and the surgical intervention worked flawlessly – truly a remarkable turn of events! It’s hard to put into words just how fortunate we are to be under the care of such extraordinary medical professionals. Their skill, dedication, and compassion have been nothing short of life-changing for me.

Yet, she disclosed that she had more steps to take on her path, since there was a possibility she might deliver the baby too soon, necessitating her stay in the hospital until she surpassed a specific number of weeks.

The pop star clarified: In essence, my cervix is extremely short right now, which means I can’t be discharged from the hospital as there’s a high risk that my water could rupture at any moment, given that I’m still quite early in my pregnancy.

Due to my need to remain at the hospital for a specific number of weeks, each passing week, we find ourselves urgently hoping and pleading, ‘Stay in there, please, please, please!’

Jesy confessed that both her and Zion felt incredibly thankful because their twins were thriving. They were overjoyed to share that the babies were healthy and doing well.

Speaking passionately, I exclaimed, “Each day brings us closer to our goal. We’re simply cherishing every week we get to work on this project. It’s an incredible blessing just to have the opportunity to create this content.

The couple later disclosed that Zion would participate in the London Marathon next month, running for the Twins Trust charity.

The music producer openly acknowledged that his action was a spontaneous move, influenced by the incredible work the charity performed in assisting twin families.

He clarified: “Given that Jess is experiencing such difficulties, although I’m also going through a lot myself, I have this feeling that I’m not the primary one nurturing the unborn children.

‘I just announced that I’ll dive headfirst into the challenge. In exactly four weeks, I’ll be running a marathon!’

In March, Jesy found herself in tears as she shared with her followers that her condition had deteriorated significantly, requiring an immediate medical intervention.

In a recent Instagram post, she shared: ‘Regrettably, the symptoms have worsened, leading to the need for the operation. This isn’t the desired outcome, but it’s crucial since it increases the chances of our babies thriving.’

We’re currently in a state of anticipation, eagerly preparing to proceed while simultaneously harboring optimism and faith for a favorable outcome. Frankly, I can’t help but feel devastated since I had high hopes that our circumstances would be different.

‘It’s obviously really scary because there’s so many things that can happen. Pray for us, please.’

According to Asma Khalil, a professor specializing in Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital, University of London, it would be beneficial for families experiencing a similar situation as Jesy and her partner to reach out to the charity Twins Trust for helpful resources and assistance.

Earlier, Jesy elaborated on the challenges she’s facing due to complications that have arisen during her twin pregnancies.

She posted a video with her boyfriend Zion, informing her audience that she’s undergoing twice-weekly scans to keep track of her babies.

The singer said: ‘We wanted to let you in on our journey of what we’ve been going through.

It’s thrilling news indeed! We’re expecting identical twins, a double blessing! However, there are some complexities that arise when dealing with identical twins, which is less than ideal.

In most cases, the kind of twins being carried are referred to as mono/di twins, which means they usually develop with two separate placentas, each providing nourishment for one twin.

If you have monoamniotic (mono) or diamniotic (di) twins sharing a single placenta, this situation can result in several potential complications. One of these issues is that one baby might end up receiving most of the nutrients, leaving little for the other. Unfortunately, this imbalance could potentially be severe enough to jeopardize both babies’ health and even lead to their demise.

The performer mentioned, “Right now, I’m undergoing prenatal TTTS, or twin-to-twin transfusion. I’m receiving close monitoring, and I need to get scanned every week, twice.

In each instance I’ve visited, things have gradually deteriorated, yet we remain optimistic and keep our fingers crossed for a favorable outcome.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that Jesy openly expressed her gratitude for the twin blessing bestowed upon her and Zion. However, she confessed that she’s been battling feelings of unease due to her health challenges, struggling to hold back tears as she spoke about it.

‘It’s just really sad that it does come with these complications,’ she added.

It came as a surprise to us that such incidents occur when you’re dealing with twins. We strongly want to spread the word about this issue.

Jesy shared that she’d keep her followers informed as she undergoes bi-weekly scans. She added that she and Zion can only hope for improvement in the days ahead, and they’ll be relying on prayers.

In certain twin pregnancies, where the babies share a single placenta, there’s a serious health issue known as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), which could be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Inequalities in blood flow occur between babies due to irregular blood vessel linkages that develop within the placenta.

One twin experiences dehydration, impacting its development. Meanwhile, the other twin develops elevated blood pressure and excessively produces urine.

This condition results in the bladder becoming larger and causing an excess accumulation of amniotic fluid. This could potentially stress the twins’ hearts, possibly resulting in heart complications severe enough to cause heart failure.

If left untreated, TTTS could prove fatal for both twins, as the odds are equally likely that neither will survive.

In most cases, monoamniotic twins are enclosed in separate amniotic membranes, yet they share a single placenta. This shared placenta can make a natural delivery potentially challenging.

In January 2023, Jesy and Zion officially confirmed their relationship, following whispers in the previous year suggesting they were growing closer.

In the year spanning from late 2022 to August 2023, I found myself in a relationship that lasted 18 precious months with someone truly special. However, we ultimately decided to part ways last summer due to a significant difference in our ages and contrasting perspectives on life.

After making up, they split up again five months later, but got back together in November.

They reconciled, but parted ways five months later; however, they reunited in November.

Or, simply: They made up and then separated again, before getting back together in November.
