The much-anticipated series adaptation of the iconic video game franchise, “Devil May Cry“, has now arrived on Netflix! This is an exciting development for longtime fans. For those who’ve recently immersed themselves in “Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat” on mobile devices, this show seems like a perfect complement to their gaming experience.
With a solid voice cast and great early reviews, Devil May Cry franchise gets a boost with this anime
Back in April 3, 2025, I stumbled upon this fantastic anime that was brought to life by the brilliant mind behind Castlevania – Adi Shankar. It was a masterpiece animated by Studio Mir, the same team responsible for Lookism and The Legend of Korra, hailing from South Korea. And guess what? All eight episodes were available on Netflix at once! What a treat!

In this freshly released animated show, we find Dante once again in the limelight as he grapples with a formidable adversary named the White Rabbit – a powerful demon. Meanwhile, he also encounters a relentless soldier by the name of Mary Ann Arkham. What sets this series apart is that it establishes its own narrative timeline independently from the storylines presented in the games.
The voice actors we’ve assembled are quite impressive. Johnny Yong Bosch lends his voice to Dante, a role he’s familiar with since he also voiced Nero in Devil May Cry 4 and even did motion capture for it. Scout Taylor-Compton portrays Mary Ann Arkham, while Hoon Lee, known for his work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, takes on the role of the White Rabbit.
Although many games have been adapted into anime series, such as Naruto Shippuden, Haikyu!! Fly High, Blue Lock PWC, and One Punch Man: World, it’s less common to find anime series that are based on existing games.
Based on the designer’s statements, it belongs to an unofficial “Bootleg Multiverse” that encompasses his other animated series. Currently, the feedback is positive, and given my long-standing interest in DMC, I believe it’s worth giving a look.
