Line Of Duty Season 7 Confirmed: Filming Starts January!
It’s reported that Line of Duty will come back next year with its seventh season, and it seems the production start date has already been determined.
Four long years have passed since that beloved BBC series drew its final chapter, leaving us, its devoted followers, yearning for more. We’re still holding on to the faintest hope that someday, a new episode might emerge, perhaps shedding light on the enigma that was H, an unresolved mystery that left many of us feeling let down.
Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, and Adrian Dunbar were featured in a police drama that aired its final episode in 2021, and fans eagerly waiting for a new season will be thrilled to hear that their schedules have become available.
As reported by The Sun, the renowned trio is expected to begin shooting the upcoming six-episode series in January, once they’ve wrapped up their other ongoing projects.
According to a source close to the TV industry, this update has been eagerly anticipated by Line of Duty enthusiasts ever since the show’s sixth season wrapped up and left viewers feeling let down in 2021.
Immediately following the debut, the BBC asked for additional episodes to extend the narrative, yet the popularity of the series led Vicky, Martin, and Adrian to be quickly recruited for other ventures.

After multiple discussions with Jed [Mercurio] and his production team, they have found room in their schedules for the following year to dedicate themselves to producing the show.
TopMob has contacted the BBC for comment.
Following their reunion for a St. Patrick’s Day drink, Vicky, Martin, and Adrian kept their followers intrigued by hinting at another upcoming series.
Over the past ten years since their popular BBC series wrapped up, the three leading actors who portrayed Kate Fleming, Steve Arnott, and Ted Hastings as officers have continued to maintain strong friendships off-screen.
Fervent fans, eagerly anticipating a seventh installment of the action, viewed this as a hint that filming for another series might be underway.
Martin, who is 40 years old, wrote in the caption: ‘Spending St. Patrick’s Day with one of Ireland’s best, our manager, and Vicky was there too.’
Fans commented: ‘We hope for Season 7!’, ‘Excitedly anticipating the next season.’, ‘Challenge me to name a more renowned group…Go ahead!’ (This version maintains the enthusiasm and anticipation of the original comments while using slightly different wordings.)
Martin has hinted at the prospect of another season of Line Of Duty, expressing that he would be eager to don his waistcoat once more.
During an interview with The Times, Martin alluded to a potential good fortune for viewers, suggesting he had answered a question many people were curious about.

He thought: “I’m afraid I can’t say for certain. I’m occupied the following year. Both Vicky and Adrian are swamped as well. If Jed (Mercurio) has a story he wishes to share, he’ll reach out to us directly.
We’ll share any updates immediately when they become available, but for now, things remain quiet. I’m excited to dust off my vest once more.
Martin playfully commented, “I enjoy wearing vests, but I can’t right now; it feels like slipping into Steve’s role.
The actor known for portraying Detective Inspector Steve Arnott over six seasons of Line of Duty (from 2012 to 2021) has made an appearance on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X recently.
Host Chris, aged 50, posed the question that everyone was eagerly waiting for an answer about its potential return.
Throwing another hint, Martin replied: ‘I love that people ask and the love that people have.
If the curiosity surrounding it wanes, it will be a melancholic moment. Truthfully, I appreciate the interest, but we should avoid fueling fan expectations unnecessarily as excitement can sometimes lead to misunderstandings.
He noted: ‘No immediate plans are set. However, we hope to organize another event sometime in the future, but for now, everyone is occupied with different projects next year.’
Chris joked: ‘Well stop working on other stuff, stop being so selfish.’

Despite there being nothing set in stone, Martin seems to be hopeful about the future.
Later on, Martin admitted: ‘I’m optimistic that we’ll tackle it eventually, but when we actually do, you’ll be the first to know.’
‘We’d be delighted to tell people!’
Martin’s co-star Adrian also recently appeared to ‘confirm’ the show’s return.
From the beginning of the show, the Irish actor, now 66 years old, has portrayed Superintendent Ted Hastings in Line of Duty.
He shared some amusing phrases that his character often used on the program, for instance, “Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the little donkey,” and “The only thing I’m really fascinated by is nabbing corrupt cops.
In an interview with Virgin Radio UK, he shared with Ryan Tubridy a saying from Ireland that translates to “Don’t delay progress,” or more colloquially, “Keep the digger moving.
It’s quite impressive, isn’t it? It reminds me of saying, ‘Persevere, for there’s more to come in the upcoming phase.’
Not only that, he also explained that Jed Mercurio has been working on it.
He added to the radio host: ‘He is writing… We haven’t got a script on the desk yet.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can confirm that Dr. Mercurio is actively engaged in some project. Meanwhile, Jed is diligently putting pen to paper. However, the exact timing of their respective ventures remains uncertain for now.
