Halle Berry has stated that she won’t be playing Storm again in the upcoming Avengers films.
In the span of four movies, spanning from the 2000s X-Men film to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, produced by 20th Century Fox, the actor portraying John Wick 3 appeared as Ororo Munroe, a mutant capable of controlling weather.
Despite several X-Men actors from the Fox films reprising their roles for next year’s Avengers: Doomsday and potentially in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, Berry has stated that she will not participate in these projects.
On the red carpet at CinemaCon, Berry was queried by Black Girl Nerds about whether her name would be featured on a seat in the upcoming unveiling video.
“Keep waiting, ’cause it’s not gonna be there,” she said with a laugh. “It’s not gonna be there.”

It’s possible that Berry is not being entirely truthful about not coming back, as some Marvel Cinematic Universe actors have done in the past. However, it’s also been publicly acknowledged that Berry found the filming of the X-Men movies to be challenging at times.
In the absence of further updates or the launch of the movie(s), fans are left with only guesswork. As Berry expressed, they should continue to hold onto hope.
To date, the following “X-Men” actors have been verified as reprising their roles: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer, and Rebecca Romijn.
Channing Tatum once again takes on the character of Gambit, revisiting his role from Deadpool and Wolverine (previously produced by Fox), now in a sequel/farewell film that has been produced by Disney.
The initial four Marvel’s Avengers films are currently available for streaming on Disney+. However, the movies titled Doomsday and Secret Ways are set to be released on the 1st of May, 2026, followed by another one on the 7th of May, 2027.
