Ellen Pompeo addresses Grey’s Anatomy future: “That place is very special to me”
Ellen Pompeo recently spoke about her future with Grey’s Anatomy, referring to her guest spots as a cherished opportunity.
In a well-known medical series that debuted in 2005, this actor took the main part as Dr. Meredith Grey. However, after some time, she reduced her frequent appearances, agreeing to appear in just eight episodes during season 19.
Luckily for the fans, Pompeo continued to be involved with Grey’s Anatomy, reappearing as a recurring character in seasons 20 and 21. With season 22 upcoming, the actor shared insights about Meredith’s future on the program.

When asked if the show could go on without her character and if she would stick around till the finale, Pompeo responded to RadioTimes: “I can’t comment on that as I’m not certain when the series will conclude.
I am deeply appreciative of the 21-season journey on this show, which holds a unique and cherished place in my heart. The program itself, as well as the affection from the fans, are equally precious to me. With that in mind, I strive to remain grounded and focused in the present moment.
She added: “I’m unsure about what lies ahead, but I understand the significance of my continued involvement for everyone concerned. I’m grateful for this opportunity.
I’m thrilled to have the chance to immerse myself and step away when needed, opening up possibilities for new experiences and nurturing my creativity. At the same time, I remain connected with what I’ve dipped into. In essence, it’s quite an honor, not something significant in itself, but a valuable opportunity.
In another world, I find myself cast in the gripping new drama series titled “Good American Family,” sharing the screen with the talented Mark Duplass. Our characters take on the role of adopting a remarkable girl who possesses a unique form of dwarfism.
As a gamer, I was raised by this pair, along with their three biological kids, but doubts started creeping in about my age and backstory. They began to wonder if maybe I wasn’t exactly who I claimed to be.
On Thursday nights at 10pm Eastern Time, Grey’s Anatomy season 21 can be watched on ABC in the United States. For those in the UK who want to catch up on previous seasons, they are available for streaming on Disney+.
