FKA Twigs stuns with racy performance at Coachella after reigniting legal battle with ex Shia LaBeouf

FKA Twigs put on a racy performance for fans at the 2026 Coachella Music Festival on Sunday. 

The singer, 38, recently won her first Grammy and performed her popular songs for the crowd at the Mojave tent during the first weekend of the festival.

This news follows recent reports that the British actress has resumed her legal fight with her former partner, Shia LaBeouf. She alleges he attempted to intimidate her and demand money.

Twigs wore a white tank top with very short, white shorts and lace-up boots in a nude color.

She had reddish hair styled in a complicated way, and she wore bold eyeliner and eyeshadow to make her eyes stand out.

A nude-colored tint was worn on her lips and bordered by a darker lipliner for a final touch.

Twigs then changed into a new outfit: black micro shorts held up by studded belts.

She wore a simple top with a tan jacket that had sparkly details, giving the outfit a bit of an edgy look.

Wearing a silver hood, she sang into the microphone under the bright stage lights.

Twigs also showcased her dancing abilities, performing a choreographed routine on stage with a group of backup dancers.

She’s performing at Coachella both weekends as part of her Body High Tour, which promotes her albums, Eusexua and Eusexua Afterglow, released in 2025.

Twigs performed at Coachella last year, but unexpectedly canceled both her festival set and the rest of her North American tour.

The actress expressed her deep sadness about the situation, explaining it was caused by problems getting a visa.

In February, the singer-songwriter received her first Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album with her work, Eusexua.

Twigs expressed her surprise and gratitude while accepting the award, saying she was simply thrilled to be nominated, especially in such a competitive category.

She sweetly acknowledged her boyfriend, Jordan Hemingway, and then spoke about what an amazing experience it had been.

She recently performed at Coachella, following a March lawsuit she filed in Los Angeles. In the suit, she claims her former partner, Shia LaBeouf, attempted to intimidate her into staying quiet.

In July 2025, she officially resolved her lawsuit alleging sexual battery against actor LaBeouf, bringing a five-year legal fight to an end.

The 2020 lawsuit asked for $10 million in damages, claiming sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress occurred during the couple’s relationship. LaBeouf has denied the allegations.

FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf started dating after they met while working on his 2019 film, Honey Boy, where Twigs had a role.

According to Mathew Rosengart, her lawyer, Twigs alleges that Shia LaBeouf is using the same combative and hostile tactics in their legal battle that characterized their difficult relationship.

According to legal documents reviewed by the Daily Mail, FKA Twigs – whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett – alleges that Shia LaBeouf attempted to control her for almost ten years, according to her lawyers.

Twigs is suing LaBeouf after he unexpectedly requested arbitration last year, seeking a large sum of money as penalty for what he claimed was a broken agreement.

In December, Shia LaBeouf requested funds, claiming FKA Twigs violated an agreement they made five years prior after she spoke with The Hollywood Reporter last autumn.

The Daily Mail reached out to attorneys for both parties for further comment on the story.

Twigs filed a lawsuit, explaining she wants to correct a harmful situation and also to support other women facing sexual or domestic violence who lack the means to protect themselves from abusers.

Twigs explained that she’s taking action to protect others who have experienced sexual misconduct from being intimidated or silenced, as she was, through agreements that are illegal and harmful according to California law and general principles of fairness.

LaBeouf took issue with questions the publication asked Twigs about her safety following previous abusive experiences.

She admitted she didn’t feel safe, but expressed a strong desire to support survivors of abuse by working with groups like Sistah Space and No More, offering help in any way possible.

According to a statement to the Daily Mail, Rosengart explained that the legal action was initiated because Shia LaBeouf tried to harass and scare FKA Twigs by filing a baseless and illegal private arbitration against her in December, attempting to get money from her.

We successfully had the case dismissed earlier this month. And, importantly, twigs is standing up for herself and other survivors, refusing to be intimidated any longer.

Rosengart stated it was highly unusual because the case wasn’t focused on financial gain, but rather on enforcing California law and protecting survivors by invalidating non-disclosure agreements that weren’t legally sound.

According to court documents, Twigs’ lawyers argue that a California law designed to protect people from retaliatory claims shields her from any legal action by the actor known for his role in the Transformers movies.

In her original 2020 lawsuit, Twigs first claimed the actor subjected her to ongoing emotional and verbal abuse throughout their relationship, which lasted from 2018 to early 2019.

Following Twigs’ 2020 lawsuit, LaBeouf told The New York Times he had a pattern of hurting those he was closest to.

Shia LaBeouf is facing new legal issues. He was arrested in New Orleans on February 17th for reportedly being involved in a fight at a bar, and is now facing two misdemeanor battery charges.

He was arrested in February on a minor battery charge, apparently connected to the same event.
