Huge Captain America Villain To Return in MCU — Report

A popular villain from the Captain America movies might be coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to a new report, this character, who fans love, could appear in a future Marvel project after being absent for several years.

Baron Zemo gets exciting return rumor

According to James Mack, a source familiar with the industry, Baron Zemo is planned to appear in a future Marvel project. His announcement on X has already received over 22,000 views since April 12, 2026.

Mack shared that rumors suggest Baron Zemo will be in a future Marvel project. As of now, Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed or denied these rumors, which is typical – they usually don’t reveal casting or character information until they’re ready to make an official announcement.

Daniel Brühl has played the character of Baron Zemo in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series since 2016. He first appeared in Captain America: Civil War as the one who caused trouble for the Avengers. More recently, he was featured in five episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

At the end of the Disney+ series, Zemo was imprisoned in the Raft. He was captured in Sokovia by the Dora Milaje after Bucky Barnes surrendered him to them. Before his capture, Zemo instructed his butler, Oeznik, to eliminate the last of the Flag Smashers.

The character was initially planned as a surprise appearance in the movie Thunderbolts. However, the writers, Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, decided to remove him from the script because he didn’t align with the story they were developing.

Zemo is a particularly effective villain because he actually managed to defeat the Avengers. He did this by revealing the Winter Soldier’s involvement in the deaths of Howard and Maria Stark, which caused major conflict within the team. His careful planning and execution have made him a popular villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans are waiting to hear from Marvel Studios about whether the character will appear in future films or shows. Brühl has said he’d be happy to play the role again if given the chance.
