Rosamund Pike has recounted an unusually embarrassing incident that transpired during a love scene with Pierce Brosnan on the set of the James Bond film.
In the 2002 James Bond movie “Die Another Day,” the actor from Saltburn took on the role of Miranda Frost, a cunning MI6 operative who covertly collaborated with diamond tycoon Gustav Graves, portrayed by Toby Stephens.
In her career, Pike landed her initial significant movie part following multiple television appearances. Notably, as the Bond girl, she has some fascinating tales to tell from her filming experiences, which she recently disclosed to David Tennant on his podcast.
In our romantic moment, I found myself learning about intricacies such as nipple coverings and tape application – fascinating insights that came to light during our scene together.
During our filming on a bed adorned with fur, she remarked, “In this scene, we get close, then pull away, and I gaze at the body tape and nipple covers, which are hairy. It strikes me, ‘Wow, I’m actually waxing Pierce’s chest.’
In a candid statement, the actress from “Gone Girl” admitted she felt deeply embarrassed, expressing, “I thought, ‘Wow, he’s so courageous, and I’m ripping out his chest hair with every hug.’ It wasn’t until a few takes that I understood it wasn’t him. It was the artificial fur of the rugs.
“I literally thought I was waxing the poor man’s chest.”
In the making of “Die Another Day,” the 20th installment of the James Bond series, Pike found Brosnan to be a genuinely charming individual who went above and beyond with his unwavering support and kindness.
As a devoted fan, I eagerly await the official announcement about who will step into the iconic role of James Bond following Daniel Craig’s departure from the franchise in 2021. Some potential candidates for the iconic 007 role are reportedly Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Henry Cavill, and, interestingly, Pierce Brosnan, who some believe might reprise his role.
In an interview with Today, the actor hinted at his potential involvement, stating: “I’m open to what the future holds. I’ll go wherever it leads. If they need me, they know how to reach me. So why not?
Brosnan also believes he might be able to take on the role of Bond again if necessary, but it remains to be seen who will eventually don the iconic suit for the much-anticipated movie.
