VALORANT patch 10.08 will switch up the Map Pool with Fracture out and Sunset in
As a thrill-seeker, I’m excitedly swapping out the zip lines of Fracture for the vibrant, LA-inspired Sunset that comes with the map pool change in VALORANT patch 10.08!
In the year 2025, it’s been predicted that map rotations will occur more frequently, and we’ve already witnessed two instances of this – first with Episode 2025 // Act 2 and now with Act 3. With the arrival of VALORANT patch 10.08, Fracture will be removed, and Sunset will make a comeback once more.
Let’s go over the details.
Sunset replaces Fracture after VALORANT patch 10.08
Feel free to review our current map selection at any time. We make sure to update the map rotation once official changes occur, ensuring you’re well-informed about the maps you’ll encounter during competitive play.
In relation to the esports side of the game, all leagues follow the practice of using the competitive map rotation system. Notably, this shift in maps will not take effect for VCT events until following Masters Toronto.
In the update 10.04, Abyss and Bind were removed from the regular playlist, replaced by Icebox and Ascent. No adjustments to these specific maps are planned for now. However, as the next act commences, we will see a swap where one map is taken out and another is brought in.
In the upcoming VALORANT update on April 29, 2025 (Episode 2025 // Act 3), Fracture map will be removed and replaced with the Sunset map. As of now, there are no details about potential changes to the Sunset map when it returns, but we’ll keep you informed once more information becomes available.
Reactions to the upcoming map pool change
Of course, there was a lot of discussion within the community regarding the change in map pool for VALORANT with patch 10.08. Keep in mind that this update won’t occur until April 29th, so you can still play Fracture before Sunset replaces it.
