An exciting, high-tension preview for the upcoming British mystery titled “The Stolen Girl” has just been revealed, prior to its debut later this month.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excitedly anticipating the new Disney+ show that’s been masterfully produced by Nicola Shindler, known for her work on “Happy Valley.” This thrilling series is inspired by Alex Dahl’s novel “Playdate,” and it delves into a chilling storyline about a girl’s abduction during a sleepover. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
The compelling trailer introduces us to Elisa, played by Denise Gough. She encounters another mother, Rebecca, portrayed by Holliday Grainger, and allows her child, Lucia, to go on a playdate with Rebecca’s daughter.
Yet, upon their visit to Rebecca’s residence to fetch Lucia, they find out that the house is vacant, triggering every parent’s deepest fear.
Initially pondering over her decision, Elisa recalls visiting Rebecca’s residence. At first glance, everything appeared entirely ordinary to her.

Journalist Selma (Ambika Mod) additionally discusses with Elisa, implying it might have been a deliberate act. She also speculates, “It seems they weren’t interested in any child, but specifically sought out Lucia.
We then see the web get deeper as it’s hinted that Elisa may not have been telling the whole story.

Earlier, we were given a hint about the show: ‘Rebecca abducted Lucia for a specific purpose.’ As more details unfold, viewers may question Rebecca’s actions – whether her abduction was justified and if it would be wiser for her to remain concealed.
In addition to the previously mentioned stars, “The Stolen Girl” will also feature Bronagh Waugh from “The Suspect”, Michael Workéyè from “My Lady Jane”, with Catherine Moulton of “Baptiste” handling the adaptation of the original book and Eva Husson serving as director.
The Stolen Girl will stream weekly on Disney+ from April 16.
