As a huge fan of The Hunger Games series, I’ve found myself yearning for more adventures with my character Peeta Mellark. So, if it’s not too much trouble, I humbly ask author Suzanne Collins to consider penning additional tales, as I’d be thrilled to once again step into the shoes of this resilient young man and bring his story to life on screen.
In the initial four parts of the science fiction dystopian movie series, our actor portrayed Peeta Mellark. These films chronicle Katniss Everdeen’s (played by Jennifer Lawrence) efforts to bring down the oppressive government in the Capitol and liberate the nation of Panem.
Ever since “Mockingjay” was published in 2010, Suzanne Collins has delved back into the series by writing prequel novels. Specifically, she has penned “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and “Sunrise on the Reaping”. These books provide insights into the beginnings of Coriolanus Snow and Haymitch Abernathy’s stories.
Although Collins has extended the series, Hutcherson eagerly anticipates the author writing another tale featuring his character. He mentioned that he’d be more than happy to take on the role again if such an opportunity arises.
Collins is growing the series, and Hutcherson hopes the writer will pen another book about his character. Hutcherson expressed his readiness to resume his role if given a chance in the future.
He expressed his readiness to portray Peeta once more, stating this at Dream It Con in Paris (as reported by Deadline). “The tale is amazing,” he continued, “The Hunger Games was amazing. I believe Peeta is an exceptional individual to have the opportunity to depict.

I’m eager to learn more about the events that take place between when Peeta and Katniss build their family and the end of the story. I’d like to understand what changes happened in the world, and how they ended up in their current situation. If it were possible for me to discuss this with Suzanne Collins and persuade her to write a follow-up book, I would be very interested.
Hutcherson’s remarks surface following the unveiling of Collins’ newest novel titled “Sunrise on the Reaping“. Interestingly, a movie adaptation was approved prior to its book release. As for the role of a younger Haymitch, it remains unfilled, as producer Nina Jacobson recently disclosed some obstacles the production team is encountering.

She mentioned that since the initial script for this project hasn’t been made public yet, we’ve been hesitant to approach actors for roles out of concern that details might accidentally leak. Essentially, we’ve been on tenterhooks waiting for the script’s release. What we’re aiming for in this role is someone who doesn’t try to mimic Woody Harrelson, who portrayed Haymitch in the previous Hunger Games films.
You’re looking for someone who convincingly resembles a younger counterpart of this character, prior to the hardships brought about by the Games – the sadness, anger, and turmoil. It’s essential to discover the innate mischief that he once possessed.
