Marvel fans think they’ve spotted a hidden detail in Avengers: Doomsday reveal
Fans of Marvel believe they may have found a concealed hint in the casting reveal for the upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday.
This week, Marvel Studios revealed their cast for the upcoming film through a live broadcast. The event featured a set chair labeled with Chris Hemsworth’s name being brought into a hangar, followed approximately every twelve minutes by another chair bearing a different actor’s name. This continued until the complete cast was presented to the public.
One by one, the cast was unveiled, leaving a series of shadows that gradually merged into each other. Upon closer examination of the live stream, eagle-eyed fans have spotted what appears to be an ‘X’ and an ‘A’ intertwined within one of these shadows, leading some to speculate whether this cryptic hint could foreshadow a crossover between the Avengers and X-Men for the upcoming movie scheduled for release in May 2026.

Another fan pointed out, “Just glance at the cast roster. It features four prominent actors returning from the X-Men films,” while someone else playfully quipped, “Only four?!” (implying there are more)
In such a crossover scenario, the ensemble of “Doomsday” would undeniably boast an array of characters fitting for the occasion. The extensive roster features actors from various Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Chris Hemsworth portrays Thor, Anthony Mackie takes on Sam Wilson/Captain America, Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright steps into the role of Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd embodies Scott Lang/Ant-Man.
Among the cast members of X-Men, it’s confirmed that Patrick Stewart (as Charles Xavier/Professor X), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler), Ian McKellen (Erik Magnus Lehnsherr/Magneto), Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy/Beast), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops) are rejoining the series.
The most recent occasion when moviegoers watched the initial 20th Century Fox X-Men ensemble on the silver screen was during the release of X-Men: The Last Stand in the year 2006.
Fans must hold their excitement until the upcoming summer as two more Marvel Cinematic Universe films are set to hit theaters before then. The highly anticipated “Thunderbolts” (releasing May 1 in UK, May 2 in US) and “The Fantastic Four: First Footsteps” (set for July 25) will debut first.
Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on May 1, 2026.
