Additionally, it’s known as a university town, with around 38,000 students enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder. This large student population gives us a chance to broaden our perspective on audience development.

In the summer of 2023, media outlets announced that the cinematic event was considering expanding to different locations. This was officially confirmed in April, and after careful consideration, Boulder was chosen as the preferred location due to its size and facilities.

Last month, it was confirmed by the festival director, Eugene Hernandez, to the media that an announcement regarding the event would be made in March.

Earlier this week, the decision to proceed with the plan was approved by the Sundance Institute’s board, as reported by the outlet. This choice involves Boulder, a city that hosts the University of Colorado.

On Thursday, Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed his excitement, stating that Colorado is overjoyed to host the Sundance Film Festival in Boulder from 2027 onwards.
