In a recent disclosure, actress Sofia Carson from the popular series “The Life List” shared that the forthcoming movie has resulted in some romantic relationships coming to an end due to its intense and emotionally charged scenes.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my thoughts about the enchanting romantic comedy on Netflix that echoes Lori Nelson Spielman’s captivating 2013 novel. This heartwarming tale introduces us to Alex (Carson), a young woman who finds herself adrift after losing her mother. Curiously, this loss leads her to reconsider her childhood dreams, which in turn propels her on an unexpected and intriguing adventure.
Following the completion of his ‘bucket list’, Alex is now faced with a single remaining endeavor: discovering genuine love. Initially, this pursuit seems elusive to him, so he creates a checklist for potential partners, emphasizing qualities such as kindness and the capacity to inspire greatness in others.
As a gamer, I stumbled upon an intriguing piece in Entertainment Weekly where Carson shed some light on the impact of a certain movie. Apparently, it wasn’t just Alex who was touched by the lessons – it resonated with test audiences too! In fact, some viewers found themselves taking courageous steps in their real lives, inspired by the film’s messages.
As a gamer, I’d recount it like this: “Adam Brooks would frequently reach out to me after test screenings, sharing that countless people had told him things along the lines of, ‘I ended up parting ways with my partner,’ or ‘I made significant changes in my life, like quitting my job.'” (Carson’s words)
The Life List provokes deep existential queries, making it far from just a romantic comedy. It resonates with many viewers, reminding us of our inner child, who dared to dream fearlessly.

Watching this movie reminded me strongly of her in various aspects. Leaving the set felt like a new version of Sofia that I believe young Sofia would be incredibly proud of. Lately, I’ve been creating my personal ‘bucket list,’ and it was heartening to see some of those dreams manifest.
In the ensemble, Carson, known for roles in “Purple Hearts” and “Carry-On”, teams up with Connie Britton and Kyle Allen. Britton portrays Carson’s late mother character, while Allen takes on the role of Brad, who becomes Carson’s romantic interest.
The Life List streams on Netflix from March 28.
