Amanda Bynes announces release of new electronic song Girlfriend as she makes music comeback: ‘Please listen’

Amanda Bynes has released her first song just months after teasing her return to music.

The actress, who recently turned 40, used Instagram this weekend to share details about her new song, titled “Girlfriend.”

Oh my gosh, you guys, I just saw the new video of Amanda! She dyed her hair platinum blonde, and it looks SO good! But it’s the contrast with her super dark, bold eyebrows that really gets me – it’s such a striking look! And she’s wearing all this gorgeous, shimmery makeup, like she’s glowing! I’m obsessed, seriously obsessed!

She announced to her 675,000 followers on Saturday night that her new song, ‘Girlfriend,’ is now available on Spotify and other streaming services.

“I’m so happy to hear everyone is enjoying it,” the former child star said. “The feedback so far has been really great, and I appreciate all of your support.”

It comes days after she signed to the distribution platform Create Music Group.

The song ‘Girlfriend’ was released with help from Zabba and Fenix Flexin, and Bynes was credited as a writer in the song’s YouTube description.

The album cover is very simple: a picture of a snow-covered landscape with trees and a pale purple sky.

In a statement to E! News, Create Music Group said the song combines rap melodies with electronic dance music, resulting in an addictive track with a laid-back, West Coast vibe.

The song is built on a catchy opening and a playful, flirty vibe, making it something people will want to listen to again and again – and likely add to their playlists.

Bynes initially gave fans a snippet of the nearly three-minute song in late January.

In February, she announced on Instagram that Fenix Flexin would be featured on her song “GIRLFRIEND,” calling it “straight fire!”

The former star of All That recently shared with her fans that she’s heading back to the studio tomorrow to work on her song, ‘Girlfriend’.

She shared her excitement about the final result and said she couldn’t wait for everyone to hear it.

In 2021, shortly after her conservatorship ended, she released the single “Diamonds” with her then-fiancé, Paul Michael.

The artist launched her rap career with a 58-second song, and later released an extended version along with another single called ‘Fairfax’ in 2022.

Amanda Bynes completed her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019 and then started a podcast.

In 2023, Amanda Bynes started a podcast with her friend Paul Sieminski, called “Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast.” However, it was canceled after only one episode aired.

I’ve always believed in the power of reinvention, and lately, I’ve been diving into new creative passions. Late last year, I actually showcased some of my artwork at a local show, which was incredibly exciting! Then, earlier this year, I decided to explore a different platform and joined OnlyFans. It’s all about embracing new avenues for expression and connecting with people in different ways.
