Brompton is revamping its T Line collection by applying Cerakote, a robust ceramic coating often used in spacecrafts and high-speed vehicles, aiming to create a bicycle that is not only built to endure but also offers an extraordinary feel, reminiscent of otherworldly experiences.
The latest T Line Ceratech assortment extends Brompton’s line of sturdy and exceptionally lightweight titanium bikes, which they introduced in 2021. Notably, the T Line is one of the lightest folding bicycles available, and the new four-speed Ceratech model tips the scales at a mere 7.95 kg (or 17.5 lbs). Brompton highlights that their Cerakote coating is 62% lighter than its standard finish without sacrificing quality, providing “outstanding durability” and “superior resistance to corrosion”.
In this release, Brompton will introduce two new color options for their bike: a “Ceratech Black” model available in both the U.K., USA, and other regions, and a “Ceratech Bronze” model exclusively sold in Asia-Pacific countries. The “Ceratech Black” edition boasts a unique two-tone finish with one side black and the other showcasing a raw titanium gray, along with a striking metallic purple accent on the seat adjustment lever and surrounding area.
According to Alex Scrivner, Brompton’s product director, the latest T Line Ceratech series signifies a significant leap in both performance and design. By merging the inherent robustness of titanium with the sophisticated protective qualities of Cerakote, we’ve crafted a bike that not only excels in function but also boasts exceptional durability, all while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The bikes will be available in two gearing choices: four-speed and twelve-speed, along with an option for either low or medium handlebars.
The innovative Brompton T Line Ceratech bicycles are currently on sale in the United Kingdom, priced from £5,499 GBP. These bikes will be making their debut in the United States starting May 14th.
