Vicky McClure’s ITV crime drama Trigger Point gets “great honour” ahead of new season

In the run-up to its new season, Trigger Point – featuring Vicky McClure – has been bestowed with a prestigious recognition.

The ITV show features McClure as Lana Washington, a veteran bomb specialist from the armed forces, now employing her expertise with the Metropolitan Police to combat crime effectively within London.

During the filming of the third season, the cast and crew on the show received an unexpected visit from Queen Camilla. She stopped by the set as part of the 70th anniversary festivities for the broadcasting company.

Her Majesty conversed with various cast and team members, such as executive producer Jed Mercurio and McClure, who was actively participating during filming of a scene featuring a crumbling structure.

Later, the Queen had meetings with some long-standing ITV personalities like Brenda Blethyn from Vera, as well as soap stars hailing from Coronation Street and Emmerdale. This special event also included ITV’s portrayals of the Royal family throughout the years.

Dame Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, expressed great pleasure as Her Majesty graced our presence for the start of ITV’s 70th anniversary festivities,” she was there to guide Her Majesty during this unique occasion.

The TV series titled “Trigger Point,” penned by Daniel Brierley, was given the green light for a third season last October, approximately nine months following the second season’s airing. As of now, there isn’t a specific release date yet; however, we can hope that the gap between seasons will be smaller than the two-year interval that occurred between the first two seasons.
