Returning Walking Dead fan-favourite spinoff drops high-stakes new trailer ahead of UK release
The Walking Dead spin-off series Dead City has dropped a trailer for season two.
In the year 2023, the initial season unfolded, introducing us to Maggie Greene, portrayed by Lauren Cohan, and Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Together, they ventured into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that had been isolated from the mainland for some time.
In season two, the duo find themselves pitted against each other when the struggle for power in New York City intensifies, placing them on different sides of the conflict.

As their journeys cross, they discover that the solution for each of them proves to be far more complex and treacherous than they initially thought.
To the tune of the Rodgers & Hart song “Manhattan,” the trailer hints at the looming struggle as Negan ominously states, “Power is power, so if you’re not on our side… well, let’s just say you’re in for an unexpected surprise.
In the final scene, we see Maggie carrying Negan’s bat ‘Lucille’, the same one he used to kill her husband, Glenn Rhee (played by Steven Yeun), during the seventh season of The Walking Dead. However, it remains unclear whom she is targeting.
Alongside the appearances of Cohan and Morgan, the upcoming season will also introduce several new faces to the cast, such as Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist, and Pooya Mohseni.
In the United States, season two is scheduled to begin airing on AMC starting May 4. Fans in the UK will need to exercise a bit more patience, as the episodes are planned for release on Sky and Now TV in June.
The series “Dead City” was granted a second season even before its first season finale, as AMC’s Dan McDermott expressed his excitement: “We can hardly wait to reunite fans of “Dead City” for another dose of thrilling zip-lining adventures featuring Maggie and Negan in the heart of Manhattan.
In the meantime, it was announced that another series set in the universe of “The Walking Dead,” specifically focusing on character Daryl Dixon, has been renewed for a third season. A trailer for this upcoming season was shown following the conclusion of season two in November, offering a sneak peek at Stephen Merchant’s new character who hasn’t yet been given a name.
Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is set to premiere on AMC in the United States on May 4. In June, it will air in the United Kingdom on Sky and NOW.
