White Lotus Fans Demand Answers After Shocking Casting Change in Thailand!
Fans of The White Lotus are eagerly demanding answers about the events that transpired in Thailand, as Charlotte Le Bon took over the character previously played by Francesca Corney, named Chloe.
Unexpectedly, the casting choice led to a change in the cast, with the Thai actress, aged 32, stepping down so that the Canadian actress, aged 38, could step in instead.
With additional backstage cast photos from other stars surfacing on platforms like Jason Isaacs’ Instagram, showing glimpses of a character named Francesca, viewers find themselves pondering why this character didn’t make it into the final version of the show.
In January 2024, it was disclosed that the actress had been cast as Chloe. However, by March, another announcement followed stating that she would no longer appear in the TV show set in Thailand.
Based on reports from Deadline, the producers may have felt it necessary to cast someone who could convincingly portray a character of advanced age.
Discussing the change with X, spectators humorously commented: ‘I’m eager to learn about the events in Thailand during the shooting of #WhiteLotus. Jason Isaacs recently shared some photos from filming, and it appears Francesca Corney was there with them before she was replaced by Charlotte Le Bon.’

Francesca Corney has been taken over by Charlotte Le Bon, or Chloe, in the role. I’m curious about how much reshooting was done and the reason behind it – rumors suggest they were looking for an actress to portray a more mature character, but the truth isn’t entirely clear.
‘This is some tea! I want to know more.’
‘Omg Francesca Corney in the second pic, I forgot she was meant to be in this season.’
‘Mourning the francesca corney cast change rn.’
Additionally, you can find several cast members on Francesca’s Instagram profile. This is because the actress often shares selfies and group photos with Aimee Lou Wood, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Perplexed spectators expressed their bewilderment in comments: ‘Totally illogical. It seems evident that you possess comprehensive knowledge of this situation, but the reason given for your replacement is hard to comprehend (more so when they chose someone who appears to be the same age as you?). Doesn’t it occur to them that there are Thai actresses beyond 25 years old?’
Incredible! What an unusual turn of events, but take heart, as better prospects lie ahead for someone like you with exceptional qualities and a promising destiny.
‘I’m sorry they recast your part! Would’ve been interesting to see your version of the character!’
Even cast member Shalini Peiris commented: ‘Always a part of TWL family,’ alongside a heart emoji.
A widely shared post on social media claims that Francesca announced her departure from The White Lotus resort, expressing heartbreak but immense gratitude for the brief period she spent with everyone there.

I absolutely adore this team, both cast and crew. I’m confident that season three will be fantastic! You can count on me to keep tuning in and offering my support throughout.
Many spectators felt let down as they learned that the Thai actress was no longer part of the cast, given that the series was supposed to be set in Thailand.
In the comments section of a Reddit discussion, people expressed their feelings about the statement as follows: ‘I’m a fan of Charlotte Le Bon, but it seems they’ve significantly altered the character, which is disappointing because it offered a chance to delve into some intriguing themes concerning race and identity/privilege. A respectful response from Francesca.’
As a devoted admirer, I must admit that it’s truly disheartening for the actor to be replaced, given the current location in Thailand. Although I maintain a neutral stance regarding the casting decision, I can’t help but feel that it’s unfortunate. I wholeheartedly wish Charlotte success, yet I can’t hide my sentiment that it would have been more fitting to keep the Thai actor in the role. After all, laughter is universal!
It’s completely unfair to swap her role with a non-Thai actor! If they’re filming in Thailand, why not cast someone local instead?
As I stepped into my new role, I couldn’t help but feel exhilarated, knowing that I had just come off a triumphant stint in the first season of Apple TV’s The Buccaneers. I was already hooked, and now I found myself part of this incredible series!
The show derives its plot from Edith Wharton’s novel, which follows a group of young, wealthy American heiresses, born into newfound wealth, as they journey to England in pursuit of aristocratic spouses.

Following Sam Nivolta’s discussion about the unsettling incest narrative in The White Lotus, I found myself reflecting on the strong reactions from viewers who labeled it as troubling after the most recent episode.
In the series, the young actor, aged 21, portrays Lochlan Ratliff, contrasting with Patrick Schwarzenegger’s role as his arrogant and elder brother Saxon.
On the show, a 21-year-old actor takes on the role of Lochlan Ratliff, while Patrick Schwarzenegger plays his older, overbearing brother Saxon.
Or simply: In this production, the 21-year-old actor embodies Lochlan Ratliff, with Patrick Schwarzenegger portraying his obnoxious elder brother Saxon.
As viewers started to speculate, they noticed signs suggesting a potential incest plot unfolding. This suspicion arose when Lochlan observed his brother taking a shower in the bathroom, and later, Saxon showed an unusual interest in questioning Lochlan about private aspects of his sexual relationships in earlier episodes.
In the fifth episode, during their revelries at a Fool Moon Party held on a Thai island alongside Chloe (played by Charlotte Le Bon) and Chelsea (portrayed by Aimee Lou Wood), the brothers exchanged a passionate kiss while under the influence.
In episode six, writer-director Mike White raised the stakes significantly when it became clear that Lochlan had engaged in an intimate act with his brother, during their intoxicated evening together.
Saxon felt shocked when Chloe, a local resident, recounted the incident to him, and later on, Lochlan recalled the same events as he found himself apart from his brother.
Speaking to Variety about the storyline, Sam admited it was ‘weird’ kissing Patrick.
He mentioned that it felt strange to kiss Patrick as he is a close friend of mine. Moreover, I should add that we both identify as heterosexual, which made the situation even more unusual.
‘Patrick was already like a brother to me. It felt sort of f**ked up.’
Additionally, Sam talked about shooting the intimate scene with Charlotte Le Bon and mentioned: ” frankly, we hadn’t known her before. Yet, it seemed as though she understood that our creator, Mike White, wouldn’t choose an unsuitable actress for a questionable part.
