Sheridan Smith Spotted Filming New Drama: See The Shocking Set Photos!
On Wednesday, it was observed that Sheridan Smith was shooting a new BBC One crime series titled “The Cage” in Liverpool for the initial time.
In Merseyside, the actress, aged 43, was filming outdoor sequences with her fellow Showtrial cast member, Michael Socha, at a nearby café.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to draw your attention to an engrossing BBC One drama penned by Tony Schumacher, a BAFTA nominee known for “The Responder.” This captivating series unfolds the tale of Leanne (Smith) and Matty (Socha), two individuals who find themselves in an intriguing predicament. They uncover a shared secret – they’ve both been pilfering from the safe at the inner-city casino where they are employed.
The five-part drama will be directed by Al Mackay (Kidnapped, Without Sin).
Author Tony hinted: ‘I’m eagerly anticipating that folks will find it amusing, a touch ominous, but above all, overflowing with affection, vitality, and enjoyment. I can hardly wait for everyone to witness it.’
On the movie set, she wore a white blouse, a snug black miniskirt, and high-heeled shoes. She stayed cozy by donning a long coat during breaks from filming.

Scenes were then being shot inside the café where Michael was seen wearing a smart black suit.
The new position arises following the disclosure that Sheridan postponed her eagerly anticipated memoir, Honestly, indefinitely.
2021 saw the unveiling of a revealing memoir, which aimed to delve into the actress’s most challenging times. This includes her fights against alcoholism, mental health issues, and significant relationships, notably those shared with actor James Corden and Jamie Horn, the father of her child.
Consequently, following several postponements, the project ultimately did not proceed. It was reported by The Sun that ‘due to Sheridan’s hectic schedule, there wasn’t enough time to complete the final stages of the book.’
In my perspective, I’ve undergone a shift in thought process, and I find myself reluctant to reveal this particular aspect of me. I’m grappling with the dilemma of whether I should expose the intricacies of my life to the world at large.
As a devoted admirer, I wasn’t taken aback by this decision, given that I’ve been aware of the ongoing challenges faced by the talented individual known for portraying The Huntsman.
Back in 2016, the actress encountered a very public personal crisis during her role in the London’s West End show, Funny Girl.

Her mental health struggles worsened due to stress, fatigue, and learning about her father’s cancer. This heavy burden led her to temporarily step away from the show.
Reflecting on that period, Sheridan admitted: ‘I was very ashamed of that time in my life.
‘I made some mistakes in my relationships, choosing poorly at times… But now I find myself in a maternal role, and I am incredibly appreciative of all that I possess. I have a strong feeling that the most rewarding experiences are still ahead of me.’
The award-winning actress is open about her struggles with mental health, frequently linking them to the stresses of celebrity life and grief.
Her father’s death in 2016 profoundly affected her, leading to an extended period of grief.
In a recent interview, she expressed her appreciation for the support she received, saying that throughout that period, the general population remained loyal to me. People would often stop me on the streets and give me warm embraces.
In her latest production on the West End, titled “Opening Night,” she portrayed a character who mirrored her personal experiences as a struggling actress battling alcoholism amidst mounting stress – a role she deemed remarkably close to her own reality.
Although Sheridan gave his all to the role, the performance was met with severe critique and premature termination. The producers attributed the sudden move to a difficult economic situation.

The performance at the Gielgud Theatre in London concluded ahead of schedule in May 2024, wrapping up a full two months before its initial planned ending date.
She became emotionally overwhelmed while talking about the play, confessing, “I was simply devastated for the entire troupe. It felt as if I had disappointed them somehow, unable to promote it effectively.
The actress explained that Opening Night forced her to confront her demons.
She shared, “I yearned to show I was capable, to confront my inner struggles. Now, I realize I’ve grown far beyond the strength I had before.
