Chappell Roan Reveals Secret Relationship
Chappell Roan openly shared that she is deeply smitten, as she disclosed that she’s been involved in a significant romance over the past half year.
27-year-old artist candidly discussed her romantic affairs on the Call Her Daddy podcast, revealing that she and an unidentified partner used to date, prior to achieving fame.
The popular artist confessed that if the relationship hadn’t been restored, she would have faced dating as an overwhelming struggle because of her trust issues and would have been extremely apprehensive about their motives.
When questioned about her relationship status, Kayleigh Rose Amstutz (also known as Chappell) disclosed that she had been in a committed relationship with someone for the past six months, emphasizing its gravity.
She went on: ‘I’m very in love, but I am pro-single. Everyone should be single, I’m serious.
Consider being on your own for a while. Take a break from dating. Embrace solitude, enjoy your own company, and discover your ability to thrive independently. This way, when you’re ready to start dating again, you’ll know if you can truly be content and fulfilled alone.

‘I discovered that being single was a wonderful phase of my life, but I’ve come to realize that being with someone now adds an even greater level of joy and contentment to my existence. I am confident that I will continue to thrive regardless.’
Sharing more details about their relationship, she disclosed that they were introduced by a common acquaintance, yet had a history together before this reconnection.
Typically, it’s me who takes the initiative – in virtually any situation, I’m the one who sets things in motion.
Since the major event took place, I’ve been out of the dating scene. However, I’ve continued seeing the person I was with prior to the incident, so I’m unsure about how I would approach dating in the current situation.
She admitted, “It would turn out to be a dreadful situation for me. Given your uncertain intentions, I find myself alone and petrified. I’m filled with fear, I’m afraid.
Instead of relying on anyone, my mind automatically assumes that when I’m communicating with a new person via text, they might secretly screenshot our conversation and share it with others.
Six months back, Chappell openly discussed a blossoming relationship in an interview with Rolling Stone. She admitted to being smitten with a girl who isn’t associated with the industry, but confessed her reluctance to fully engage due to being overly cautious.
The Grammy winner shared: ‘I came across a woman I have feelings for, yet I’m unable to make a commitment as I believe nobody truly comprehends me.’

I prefer not to date other artists because they can be incredibly unpredictable and difficult to understand. I tend to keep my distance because I often think, “She won’t comprehend me. She won’t grasp what I’m about.
She continued by saying: ‘She’s incredibly amazing and confident, and she’s even said, “There’s no need to feel pressured; we can simply maintain a friendship if that’s your preference.”‘
I feel as if I’m rushing about frantically, like a headless chicken. I find myself exclaiming, ‘What? I can’t get married!’ At the moment, it seems as though I’ve lost touch with reality on this matter.
Chappell consistently keeps her past relationships private, prioritizing her personal space and confidentiality.
Yet, she’s hinted at past romantic experiences, sharing insights into her journey of accepting her sexuality – from initially recognizing her queer identity, to handling challenging separations, and figuring out how to date amidst public scrutiny.
Previously, it’s been disclosed that while penning her popular songs “Red Wine Supernova” and “Naked in Manhattan”, she was in a four-and-a-half year long relationship with an unidentified man.
In an interview with The Los Angeles Times in 2023, she shared: “At that time, I was seeing a young man. Up until the writing of these songs, I hadn’t even kissed a girl. These lyrics represent the life I yearned for.
In a separate conversation with Teen Vogue, she mentioned that dating boys is simply not enjoyable. She used the word ‘literally’ to emphasize that it’s not enjoyable at all, not exciting, not intriguing. Instead, she finds it dull or unexciting.

Additionally, Chappell shared that her upbringing in a traditional Missouri community kept her from acknowledging her feelings towards girls, even though she began questioning her sexuality as early as age 12.
Reflecting on her thoughts during school years, she mentioned: ‘Perhaps I have a preference towards girls. I found myself thinking, ‘Girls are incredibly attractive.’ ‘Girls seem more kind-hearted.’ ‘I enjoy socializing with girls more.’ These feelings lingered throughout high school. I believe I might be attracted to girls.’
As for that aspect within me, I found myself struggling to handle it and resorted to jesting about it, chuckling to myself. Oh, isn’t it amusing? I thought it was just a passing stage. Ha!
At 21, relocating to Los Angeles and attending The Abbey, a popular gay venue, played a significant role in helping Chappell discover her attraction towards women, ultimately inspiring the creation of Pink Pony Club.
The successful songwriter openly discusses navigating the common struggle of overcoming a tough separation, transforming some of that pain into her musical creations, without disclosing specifics about her former partner.
In a 2022 TikTok post, she shared that her song “My Kink Is Karma” came about following the most painful breakup she’s experienced.

She expressed that she truly believed we’d stay together eternally. However, looking back, things couldn’t have turned out more poorly. Consequently, she wrote a piece expressing her current feelings.
Additionally, she delved deeper into the nuances of their broken relationship as she sang at Coachella in April of the previous year, seemingly speaking directly to her former partner.
She gazed directly into the camera while stating: “Indeed, I can sense your presence, and it seems that the misfortunes befalling you are a form of cosmic retribution. And I am the one responsible.
In August 2023, the popular singer disclosed that she had started dating someone new, yet expressed her apprehension: ‘I find myself anxious about kissing her in public. Even though I’m in Los Angeles, the fear of homophobia lingers. It’s empowering, but it brings a fresh set of challenges that I hadn’t anticipated.’
