Stacey Dooley’s Chaotic Pregnancy Moment

Stacey Dooley has confessed that when she discovered she was pregnant with her daughter Minnie, it wasn’t a polished or organized experience – instead, it was quite chaotic.

38-year-old TV host recently published a new book titled “Dear Minnie.” In it, she penned an emotional letter to her two-year-old daughter, Minnie, whom she shares with Kevin Clifton.

41-year-old professional dancer Kevin and television personality Stacey, victorious of Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, brought their first joint child into the world in January 2023.

In her correspondence, she described the instant she discovered she was pregnant, which occurred in the year 2022, following a pregnancy test taken in the restroom at Selfridges.

On Wednesday, Stacey shared her story during a conversation on the Dish from Waitrose podcast, which was hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.

Speaking about the composition of the letter, she confessed: ‘I found it quite effortless. I was actually seated upstairs, I had just a few minutes, and it was more like a juggling act.’

I aimed to express my feelings without being overly sentimental and repetitive, as it’s quite self-evident that anyone would cherish their child.

Apart from desiring it to be genuine, the method of discovery was far from serene; instead, it was rather turbulent. To clarify, I’m referring to purchasing a pregnancy test at the pharmacy section inside Selfridges.

In the documentary, the maker reminisced: ‘I grabbed it on a whim because I had a few spare minutes. The chemist, who was incredibly kind, wrapped a piece of tape around the bag to ensure privacy.’

I went downstairs because it’s extremely hot down there. I ended up sitting on the toilet because there was a long line waiting outside. The woman knocked on the door while I was still in the middle of using the bathroom, and my instinct told me she was there because of the long queue.” In this version, I tried to maintain the original meaning while making the language more natural and easy to read.

Further explaining the situation, she said, “Then I mentioned wanting a taxi headed south of the river, which didn’t sit well with him since I was in a black cab.

“He has no desire to travel south; instead, he’s arguing with another taxi driver. I’m going to video call Kevin because he’s doing an interview with a microphone, so I quietly tell him [in a hushed tone], ‘I’m pregnant. Are you happy for me?’ He seems genuinely thrilled by the news.

She laughed: ‘There was nothing glossy about finding out.’

In another part of the same program, she unveiled an unusual backstage fact about Strictly, one that keeps prominent personalities from being too much in the spotlight.

year after year, people are eager to find out who will be participating in Strictly Come Dancing, but instead of revealing their names, they often assign pseudonyms or nicknames. In 2018, for instance, everyone was referred to as different types of cheese, and Stacey was known as Cheddar.

My assistant, in turn, would nonchalantly announce our presence with a straightforward statement: “I’m with Cheddar. We’re heading to the studio.” This understated declaration, delivered matter-of-factly, hinted at an air of legitimacy and insider access that was both intriguing and exhilarating.

Next, you would observe the other person saying, “Hi, I’m with Brie. Brie has stepped away to use the restroom, but I’m here keeping watch.” This is hands-down one of the most enjoyable performances you’ll ever experience in your lifetime.

She confessed: “I find it challenging to express just how enjoyable it was. It was undoubtedly the most entertaining performance I’ve ever given in my career. Kev was an ideal companion for me; he was incredibly relaxed. To be honest, there are times when my little girl watches us dance.

As a die-hard fan, let me share an exciting revelation: I orchestrated a Minion-style spectacle, and the reaction was beyond my wildest expectations! It’s heartwarming to know that she’ll be utterly smitten now. However, when she grows up into a teenager, it seems inevitable that she’d find it rather cringe-worthy.

After Stacey displayed the most recent updates of her beautiful Liverpool home following its renovation, they were showcased on social media.

Since 2020, the presenter, along with her partner Kevin, has owned the property, and she’s been meticulously recording its transformation process over time.

In November, Stacey showcased on Instagram a video of her beautifully adorned living room, featuring soaring high ceilings and ornate plaster molding all around.

In this spacious, unfurnished abode, I’ve undeniably left my mark, transforming it with my unique touch. A splash of olive green adorns the ceiling, mirroring the hue that graces every corner of my personal sanctuary.

Captioning the video, she penned: ‘Me, to my painter [painter emoji] upon arrival at home.

I can’t contain my excitement for ‘Big Hoops’ on the ceiling! I’m absolutely thrilled about them, and while I have a connection with Coat Paints, there’s no pressure or obligation to promote this stunning collection. I simply can’t get enough of it!”

In 2023, Stacey showed off her dining room which featured a huge bay windows.

In the lavish room the walls have been painted a trendy dark grey to match the marble fireplace.

Visitors have the option to enjoy their meals at an expansive dining table, which comfortably seats eight or more people, while a classic chandelier graces the space overhead.

There is modern art on the wall and a large bay windows that look out onto a leafy back garden.

Stacey said that she was ‘Walking around in disbelief’.

After falling in love with a property in Liverpool during their first visit, the journalist and her former Strictly dance partner decided to relocate to live nearer to Stacey’s mom.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share that, much like how I adore dance moves of the remarkable Kevin, it seems Stacey finds solace in scrolling through dream homes online. Her passion for interior design and details, it appears, is her ultimate joy.

She chanced upon something appealing and mused, ‘It isn’t too distant from my mom’s place.’

Upon visiting, her reaction was immediate: “I adore it! I can visualize us making this our home.” The events unfolded rapidly, but we feel strongly about this place.

Ever since they won Strictly Come Dancing as a couple in 2018 and made their relationship official, they’ve been thriving more and more.

Instead, Stacey shared with The Guardian that she and Kev prefer to maintain their relationship as a private matter, explaining, “We don’t want to disclose too many details about our personal life since it’s tricky to share such things publicly and still expect privacy.

‘That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds.’
